I am having dental surgery on Tuesday afternoon. I would hope to be calm enough to think about praying, but I expect I will be just šŸ˜› trying not to yank the guy’s hands out of my mouth, &:o run out the door, as usual for me & dentists…

I suppose I could offer it up…I’m still not used to that idea, but it would be one thing I could manage…

not me my dentist talks to me the whole time i’m there!
My dentist and his assistant talk the whole time, telling funny stories that happen throughout the day/week. I don’t mind going to the dentist at all, actually.

My dentist is Catholic and attends the same church that I attend. So, if I start praying or have a rosary in my hand, she is quiet. :gopray2:

I don’t normally pray at this time. I alway use nitrous oxide and headphones. šŸ‘

Dentists. (violent shudder)

… I kept pulling my facial muscles, trying to work my upper lip loose. The dentist noticed this, and laughed. He laughed, and then he said, ā€œPinching your lip, huh?ā€, and laughed again. Then, he reached up and tightened it another notch…
.
What a horrible story. What awful people there are in the world. Gosh, and now you have to pray for the wretched man!

Well, for anyone who wants to know, this website is very interesting, by a local dentist here, who tells about the great benefits of the natural sweetener, Xylitol. You can get it in a sugar form for cooking, or, I like to buy it in gum and mints from the health food store. I had never ran across Xylitol in my research previously and a freind brought it to my attention. Perhaps I avoided it as it ā€œsoundsā€ unnatural. But its natural, and the health websites agree its good stuff, so I always have it around and my son and I chew the gum if we don’t have our toothbrushes handy after a meal or a snack.

In the website, she outlines a good plan for avoiding the dentist office. After your story, I thought you misght be interested.
