Not thinking too far ahead and trying to just do some little thing in the moment works much better.

Good advice. Start small. Small achievable tasks and build from there.
Actually I thought my post might ring true for a lot of people in the first world. I kind of represent that demographic of spoilt and addicted to creature comforts.

In America, if you are lucky enough to have a net annual income of fifteen thousand dollars a year, that puts you in the top 8 percent of the richest people on Earth. You would then be richer than around seven billion people.

Very true. Yet, our real richness lies int he Eucharist.
Get to Adoration, and give thanks.
Everything can be laid there at His feet.
He’s waiting with outstretched arms. IT MIGHT inspire you to do community service work, join St Vincent de Paul, join the choir (hey, we never have enough men, ) become a Friend for the Journey in RCIA, or just straighten up and help with the funeral ministry. So many things to do that require varying degrees of work, prayer and piety.
Jesus is coming back. Look busy!
