I was one years old and I remember my baptism. I remember feeling very excited!

Wow, that’s a very good memory you have. 1 year old & still remember. Congrats for your baptism I guess. 🙂

That is very unusual, since a one year old wouldn’t know what “excited” meant.

Is it possible that you have seen pictures of the event and remember it through those pictures?

I grew up Baptist and my baptism was probably at age 5. I do remember it well.

I was 41 days old when I was baptized. I don’t remember a thing.

I too was very young when I was baptized. (This was pre-Vatican II). I remember it very well. I did think it odd that the priest was saying the prayers in an unfamiliar language (Latin). I remember my parents and god parents being there and pondered why they were so dressed up, as that was unusual for my blue-collar dad. I also anticipated the party afterwards. Everyone had lots of good eats etc. of course I was still confined to mothers milk. Then came the gifts. Mom opened them of course as I was still an infant. My godparents gave me a beautiful rosary with a center piece with the with Mary on the front ans a prayer in Latin on the back. Again being a tiny infant I could not read Latin yet but could see the words. If I was able to talk I would have tried to read them out load but would have probably mispronounced them. That is the last thing I remember because it was then nap time. Next thing I remember was the next morning and the mail carrier waking me. Mom got the mail . There was a letter from my uncle Ralph, and a utility bill, and a Sears and Roebuck Catalog. I wanted to go to the BB gun section but was too little to turn the pages. All in all it was a pretty good memory.

No. I was less than 1. For some reason while I can’t remember stuff before I was 2(even important stuff like my baptism), I have TONS of memories of being 2.

I think some of my friends can remember theirs(even though they were all a few month old infants at the time). I’m not sure which said it but I can remember someone telling me about how they cried and then fell asleep, but I think they probably just imagined it after their parents told them about it and then just accidentally tricked themself into thinking it was a memory.

Are you accusing me of lying? Careful, one wrong answer and I’ll go straight to God.
That is a weird response.

I will ask how you propose that your memory was affected at such a young age and what you were “excited” for? Did you understand the theological implications of baptism? If the grace to “remember” this event was supernatural, what do you think the purpose of that is? To what will you use this “memory” to the glory of God.

The previous poster did not call you a liar but they did state that they do not believe what you are saying. I would be inclined to agree.

I have excellent short-term memory. I remembered watching the baby in front of me being showered with a lot of water (by the priest). I was excited to experience the same.

Again that’s a weird statement. “Remembering” your baptism at the age of 12 months is your long term memory and not your short term memory.

I say again that I do not believe you remember your baptism. Why would you assume I was saying you are lying. Your are almost certainly mistaken and it is likely a false memory constructed based on what your parents and others told you about your baptism.

"Are you accusing me of lying? Careful, one wrong answer and I’ll go straight to God."

What does that mean? Maybe you need help.

I was baptized by a Presbyterian doctor, at the instructions of my Catholic parents, at birth as I was not breathing. So I do not remember my baptism or the conditional baptism later. But have lived as the most important event of my life. (Don’t even have photos.)

You are not making sense. I hope you are ok.

Being showered with a lot of water permanently impacted my memory, and since I saw the baby before me being baptised not 5 minutes before, it was short-term memory.
