Do you sometimes go to more than one Mass?

So, I’m going to the Easter Vigil Mass tonight, and then I’m going to the 8 and 10 am Masses tomorrow morning. I have to serve at 8, and then I’m going to the 10 am one because my family will not cooperate getting ready for the 8am Mass in time, so going to 10 is easier for them.

I hope I don’t look weird going to 3 of them. I hope I’m not the only one that goes to more than one Mass on a Sunday or Holy Day.

I just am afraid someone will think “Does this person have a life?” :o

Easter Sunday masses make me VERY uncharitable, I do better if I pray for the creasters from home instead of glaring at them in Mass.

I LOVE the vigil.

very rare that I go to two masses on a given day but you can go to two masses in the same day for a different mass ex. wedding and vigil, funeral and vigil etc. I think receiving communion twice in a day is maximum. sometimes I go to vigil mass then again on Sunday.

Look weird to whom? Probably few if any will notice that you are at more than one mass, since few others will be doing the same. If they are, chances are good they won’t think twice about it since they’ll understand, even without knowing your particulars.

You can attend as many masses as you like any day you like, regardless of the occasion. There is no restriction on simply participating at a mass.

I go to Mass as often as I can. I go to daily mass most days and the most I have managed is three Masses in one day.
To go to Mass is such a joy and wonderful.I hope you enjoy all your Masses
God bless

Easter Vigil is awesome, and unlike Easter Day Mass. I go to the Vigil - wouldn’t miss it!! I may go to the Sunrise Mass at 7 AM. I play for a Methodist service at 9:30. Then, I play for 11:15 Mass - the highlight of Easter Day!! This year I was also asked to play for a service at a local nursing home at 2:30. I couldn’t refuse. Isn’t that what Easter is all about? Isn’t that why He insisted on washing the disciples’ feet? So, good for you! What is so ‘weird’ about wanting to be with Jesus on Easter? I’ll get food in the oven in between. We’ll have a late Easter dinner. Sounds like you have a great life!! Alleluia!

Have a Blessed and Happy Easter!

I go to Mass at my main parish and then the Divine Liturgy at a neighboring Byzantine Catholic parish each and every week.

I go to daily Mass, and sometimes more than one Mass on Sunday. Tonight I’ll be at Easter Vigil, then two Masses tomorrow (I’m reading at 9:30, then want to see the Easter Mass at the cathedral).

Why do you care what anyone thinks? And anybody that would thinks ill of you going to two Masses in one day probably has no opportunity to see you at two Masses in one day.

My maximum was a Saturday vigil then four Sunday Masses. I was giving a presentation at each Mass. It was interesting, and exhausting.

I personally believe that Mass is the most important place we can ever be in our entire lives. It is wear we receive God Himself in the Eucharist. It is our closest encounter with Heaven while on earth. In other words, Mass literally is “Heaven on earth”! Thus, I am very happy for you that you could go to multiple masses in one day. Excellent! In fact, many of the Saints attended Mass twice a day, sometimes even three times, and it was their greatest joy.

I was thinking about the priest presiding…like would he be like “What’s wrong with him?” Lol. Thanks. I was bored last weekend so I went to the Saturday Vigil and both Sunday Masses for Palm Sunday.

We have music people at our parish who go to every Mass, every Sunday, because there aren’t enough of them to split it up. No one thinks anything of it. And I’m sure the priest won’t mind either. Why would he? Unless you’re not doing other things you should be (i.e., you bring a two-year-old to three Masses in a row, and don’t feed her or something).

I often do something like that. I like to go to the anticipated Mass on Saturday, and my husband likes to go to 8:30 on Sunday morning, so I will often go with him. Sometimes my kids need to attend a later Mass, and I will take them.

Once Father was in the back, as I was entering, and asked me, “Is this 3 times?” And I said, “No, just 2.” He replied that after the third time of hearing himself that was quite enough.

Now, he doesn’t give it a second look, and I see others who go twice (usually Saturday an Sunday) on a weekend, as well. What better place to spend time!

Enjoy!

but you can only receive holy communion twice in the same day

Right-- if you’re bored, go to Mass! I think you’re walking on a good path!
I was hoping no one got the wrong impression from that! I’m really drawn to the Mass, and I was like “Hey, I have nothing better to do…” so I just went to Mass. Haha.

The rubrics state that if you receive the Eucharist at the Easter Vigil Mass then you are allowed to receive it once the next day. Normally one can only receive the Eucharist twice in the same day and only if the second time the person participates in the entire Mass. This is to keep people from losing their yearning and respect due to such a unique Gift. Yes, many times I go twice in a day and if I go a third time I just refrain from the Eucharist. God bless… teachccd
