Jon, law abiding citizens break the rules daily (speeding, drunk driving…), do you actually believe that if there was not control over these things there would be no breaking of the rules?

Gun control does not limit the ability of the law-abiding to purchase a gun. It only limits the abuse of gaining access to guns. Yet, if there are no consequences (no financial loss, loss of license, criminal liability), the “good” gun industry will continue to filter guns into the hands of the “bad” citizens.

People are people , and they’re in government, too. So, to keep people who actually have guns and power in check, the citizenry has two sources: Article V and the second amendment

If there’s a chance of resistance, even military-level strategists let alone criminals will be forced to reconsider, which is the idea: avoid the fight in the first place because it’s not worth it.

That is what MOST people have done historically, but in case they don’t…

Actually, it’s the exact opposite. In fact, nearly every single major mass shooting in American history has happened in a gun free zone or an area with strict gun control. The only notable exception was Tuscon, where Democrats at that rally simply choose to not carry weapons.

So maybe someone can explain why rapists, mass-murderers and big-time thieves will commit offenses that will risk get them abused for the next 50 years of a life sentence in jail or executed, assuming they aren’t shot dead by police, but would run for the hills if they saw a sign that said no guns allowed because…sniff…sniff…it makes people feel oh-so-good to have done something cool. :cry:
 
Luigi, it’s romanticism–when the zombies hit the town all gun trotting red blooded will run for the hills.

They can’t even come together on a town meeting, how do you suppose they will set aside their differences to fight tanks and drones that can use body heat and movement to target them out of existence?

So the gun control lobby likes to say.

Ask them how they’d feel about trying to regulate guns in Mexico or Algeria amidst accusations of imperialism, racism and islamophobia.

And even then ask if there would ever be enough unionized, competent government civil servants who would be willing to die as imperialist racists for their idea in some foreign land like an illegal occupation force.

I think you can see pretty quick how “but they just get them from other places” is a bunch of hot air…and why gun control will never ever work.

It’s claiming that having an umbrella prevents rain clouds from forming and pouring down.

Nope. Super is talking about criminals who commit mass shootings. They do it at schools and other “gun free” zones because they know they will meet no armed resistance. You know, good guys with guns. They get their roughly 5 minutes to kill people before law enforcement arrives. By the way , its those 5 minutes that prompt people to own firearms

Also, do you have your source yet that proves gun manufacturers and dealers are illegally selling guns?
