Do you think adultry is a forgiveable sin?

Please let me know your views on whether you believe adultry can be forgiven by God. The Bible speaks quite clearly about it but I thought any sin could be forgiven if there was true contrition.
 
What do you mean a forgivable sin, all sins a forgivable except refusing to accept forgiveness (sin against the holy spirit).
 
The Bible says that the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, and I believe that. Paul talks about adulterers, homosexuals, murderers, thieves, and others who will not enter the kingdom of heaven, but notice that those are people who continue in their sin. Repentance and acceptance of sanctifying grace (versus rejection of sanctifying grace, which is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit) brings about the forgiveness of sin, including adultery.
 
The Lord Himself forgave those who committed adultery, therefore it must be forgivable.
 
are you asking whether God can forgive it, or whether the offended spouse can forgive? We are all called to forgiveness but it may be a long time before that is possible, and for trust to be restored. Also calls for an HIV test.

Testament. Jesus didn’t seem to have any problems
forgiving it in the New Testament.
Yes, you have to be repentant and resolve to sin
no more.
 
Any sin can be forgiven if true forgiveness is asked. Look to :

Mt 9:2-8 Son of Man has authority to forgive sins
Jn 20:23 - whose sins you forgive/retain are forgiven/retained
2Cor 5:17-20 - given us the ministry of reconcilliation.

I believe that if you present yourself to a priest, with repentance and a proper disposition, his absolution wipes the slate clean…you are forgiven.

… however, one who has seen the error of his ways and repents can also be forgiven for sins against the Holy Spirit.

I believe God will forgive ALL sins,It is up to the hurt spouse to forgive their partner.We’re human and it takes time forthe pain to heal,but heal it will .
 
Adultery is indeed a sin that can be forgiven. Otherwise there are a whole lot of people walking around with that sin hanging over their heads.

So how many of the Ten Commandments can one break with impunity? Is murder a forgivable sin? Is coveting your neighbor’s goods a forgivable sin? If so, then the Ten Commandments are not worth the stone they’re carved on.

Actually, all of those are forgivable. If we’re truly sorry and ask for God’s forgivness (through Confession) we’re forgiven.

I think if you commit murder and go to confession with a truly contrite heart, you’ll be forgiven. Your penance will probably be to turn yourself in and serve your sentence. Why would you not be forgiven?

Then what do you think the sacrament of Reconciliation is for?

All these very serious sins, may be forgiven with a contrite heart. But even with the most sincere, I think there are still consequences to be paid later.

I doubt anyone who commits or has commited some very serious offenses goes straight to Heaven. This is probably the biggest argument for the existence of Purgatory. No one should get off scot free for serious crimes, and I believe divine justice prevails in the end. You may not go to Hell after confession, but I think consequences still remain.
