Do you think the same phenomenon explains both possessions and alien encounters?

I’ll believe in aliens when I visually see them. Until then, they can wait.

Ghosts, again, are more troubling because they are attested even in Scripture. (Our LORD’s disciples thought He was one after His resurrection.). But I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt until, again, my standard-issue human eyes see one.

Books written by exorcists indicate that demons are spirit, not physical.

This seems incompatible with the theory here.

Even in Scripture, spirit beings are known to take on physical form. If they (being nonbodies) who have no need for heads, limbs, etc, can convincingly take on what seems to be a living body, the appearance of a spacecraft is no big deal.

True possession is thought to be more of a rarity.

Most demonic influence is in the form of oppression, which is not physical.

I guess why aliens are so demanding is that they provide an alternative framework:
Maybe they are the ones who created us, maybe they explain alleged supernatural phenomenon like miracles, maybe they are behind religion and even Christianity, etc.

So I can see how it could possibly be demonic in order to lead people away.

Then again, maybe aliens exist, and some are bad - just like some humans are bad.

But it is hard to think of demons as manifesting as corporal beings and actual spacecraft. Perhaps not impossible but still difficult to imagine. The easier explanation would be to say these things are physical, no?

Ever since I was little, the UFO and alien abduction and encounter phenomena have frightened me - mainly because (1) they are freaky (and I’m a wimp) and (2) aliens pose serious questions for the Christian faith (and would shake some key Christian concepts).

I know plenty of CAF users will poke fun at UFO and aliens. I’m not a conspiracy theorist or anything like that, but I am not so willing to simply dismiss all those UFO videos, UFO encounter stories, alien encounter stories, alien abductions, etc.

However, I also realize plenty CAF users here will willingly accept the existence of demons, possessions, and evil encounters.

My question is: if these alien encounters are real, do you think they are related to ghost and demonic encounters?
No, not at all. After studying UFOs for decades, there is zero evidence for aliens.

The objects described are physical and metallic, but ghosts and demons are not. Yes, there is real evil out there. And there is evidence that demonic things can appear, like ghosts, but that’s it. Possession is quite real but requires spiritual intervention.

This is an article about the USAFs Project ‘Sign’ back in the later 40s, they concluded that UFOs are indeed interplanetary spacecraft.

I’m familiar with all of the Air Force Projects. No one concluded anything interplanetary. In fact, at Wright Field, T-3 (engineering) had built models for wind tunnel tests. The consensus was that the craft being seen were Russian in origin, which is only partly true.

Comparison of (a famous Satanist from the early 20th century) Aleister Crowley’s Lam, an entity he had invoked repeatedly in 1918 and called “Lam.” and an alien remembered from an alien abduction:

Whether they are ‘real’ or not, I don’t know, but there has obviously been something (not “Lam” specifically, but fairies, demons, little people, etc.) going on for centuries. Mass delusions? The demonic? I don’t know, but it’s been going on since people first started writing.

The only credible investigator with the appropriate credentials, concluded that people who came to him with with claims of alien abductions did experience something, but there were many psychological explanations. In fact, he referred to these people as “experiencers.” I’ve studied the supernatural for a long time. Certain mental states can blur the line between reality and imagination.

The most scientists/qualified experts can say when given the evidence of an extraordinary occurrence, like a miracle, is “We don’t know,” or “Based on what we do know, this event is impossible.”

The Bible records that Jesus was tempted by the devil or Satan, who even transported him to certain places. The devil spoke to Him. The New Age tells us there are beings who are ready to help us but this is a lie. They are called various things, but I can’t name names. Sometimes, people accept these beings, and bad things happen.

Physical effects have been observed. But the ‘ghost hunter’ nonsense on TV is nonsense. It is not done correctly or thoroughly. Watch a few episodes and they all blend together.

Deceitful people are among us. “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” 2 Corinthians 11:14 NIV

There have been recent reports from the UK that tell of workers refusing to disturb what they call a “faerie mound.” In Hong Kong, if something bad happens, people say, “fox spirit,” since this spirit being is known for being involved in bad things.

Man needs the Word of God, the Bible, to understand “signs and wonders” or at least to prepare for them.
