According to traditional Catholic putting oneself into a proximate temptation to sin can be a sin itself.
I guess that answers my question… which i kind of knew but wasn’t 100% sure…
. I think that when it comes to some families, televison is a way that satan comes right into their living room and home. This may not be true your case–or is it?
satan comes trhough tv in anyone’s case… TV these days is HORRIBLE! IT is ALL - and i mean ALL about sex… the sit-coms, the talk shows… and then we have always had the soap operas…
I know someone is going to write and say something like “What about PBS”??? Well, whatever… chaulk my comments up to hyperbole…

anyway… we have the choice, obviously, to say Yes or No to Satan… I have said NO… I turned the TV on - for the 1st time in long time - to Late Late Show last night only to get to the commercials, so i can write the sponsors and tell them what a loser show they are sponsoring… (etc).

You are waht you eat… 🤷 :coffeeread:

I have a confession to make…

I have written to CBS, complained about such shows as Letterman and Late late w/ C. Ferguson… I haven’t gotten any response… yet… and, well, i know my psychology is entering into the picture… and it is a long story what all i mean but i have gotten discouraged &… whatever… and momentarily, had a lapse of faith… for lack of a better way to put it. & I got to thinking that maybe i really am… a nut case about Jesus… Again, for lack of a better term…

It made me feel lost and confused… and** depressed**.

So please don’t tell me that watching this &^%$# doesn’t affect you.

True, i bounced back, but… well, for a moment, it seemed that God was kind of taken from me or something…

Also: 2 1/2 Men…

that show really disparages relationships/marriage…

What is this country coming to??

:hypno: :ouch:

Write to the sponsors!

That will get action!!

Contact www.aim.org and they at Accuracy in Media might be able to help you with the names and addresses.

Thank you so much… I have gotten the names of some of the sponsors, though no addresses… so i will check that site out…

I “never” watch tv… and yet once in awhile when i see some short piece of a show… like when i am at someone’s house and the tv is on… all (and i mean ALL) i ever see is SEX!! It is like the country is just obsessed with the subject, can’t get its dirty mind on anything else. and if it was just sex, that would be bad enough but on those late shows, the host and guests always seem to focus on some kind of perverted sex… the sad thing is, D. Letterman never used to be like that… I think maybe he has let C Ferguson influence him too much… (&/or others…).

You would think he would get a little more conservative as he ages…

It is weird…

Al Maseti:

I went to that site but didn’t find anything… Of course, i didn’t have much time to look…
