I was just curious to know about scapular wearers here in the community. If you do or do not or have considered wearing one. Today is the the vigil of the Solemnity of Mary so I figured it’s a good time to ask.

If you don’t wear a scapular, please also answer and maybe tell why not if you wish.

Thanks.

I wear a miraculous medal.

Why don’t I wear a brown scapular? I am more attracted to the miraculous medal, and I don’t feel the need or desire to wear both.

At present, I do not wear a scapular. However, I have strongly considered wearing a St. Francis of Assisi scapular as he is my Patron Saint.

I wear a scapular, I used to (and must again) tie a little miraculous medal to it.As teenagers my mum taught us to kiss the scapular when we said our Morning Offering. It helps me keep close to Our Lady .I am aware of it during the day .

I put a brown scapular in my mother’s casket and every year we give them to our graduating students in the school where I work so it means a lot to me even though I don’t wear it daily I have one or two here at home

I wear the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. I began wearing it after I pledged to myself that I would pray the rosary daily. I went to a Carmelite shrine and got invested in the confraternity by a priest who was on staff there. Wearing the scapular is a tangible reminder that I made a devotion to pray the holy rosary and that I constantly seek the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to our Lord Jesus Christ.

I used to wear the brown scapular when I was younger. The loops on the two tags were such that both tags were in front, like dog tags, rather than one being on either side of you. I happened to really like it-- and eventually wore it out. When I went to replace it, I couldn’t find one that was like it… and eventually read that you’re not supposed to wear both tags in front. So I stopped wearing anything for a while.

I did the 30-day Consecration several years ago. One of the rules of the Consecration was that you wear a permanent chain and a MM on it as a visible sign. So-- I do. It frustrates DH that I’ve stopped wearing other necklaces, because that’s one less gift idea, come birthday/anniversary/Christmas! 😛

I lost my miraculous medal, but I found it today! Yay! I do not wear a brown scapular though, as I don’t feel called to do so, and would rather wear a Dominican one. 😄

I’m trying to find a priest who will invest me in the brown scapular. Currently I wear a green scapular.

Majestic creatures!

I wear a Brown scapular. One tag has the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe the other has St Faustina’s Devine Mercy image.

When I first saw it I realized Mom was calling me back

Thanks Stephie. 🙂 Could be just a migratory stop-over. Depends on the quality of the fishing in the territory, current climate, and whether DW is interested in building any sort of nest in the area or not. She goes through restless phases, especially in Winter, but time will tell.

She prefers I not speak of her on the internet. I like to keep her tail feathers as unruffled as possible. She’s a bit hungry, so it’s time for dinner…

I wear a MM, not all the time but when I do, I wear it with confidence that I get that extra help I need.

I wore the Miraculous Medal for a number of years but then I got a bit mad at Our Lady, I’m a little ashamed to say, and stopped wearing it. I will probably begin wearing it again at some point in the future.

Does anyone ever ponder whether they ought to wear the MM openly or under their shirt??

I know that generally speaking, the vast majority of those devoted to the brown scapular wear it under their clothes.

Brown scapular tend to flap around a lot :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
When I have a nice sturdy silver necklace I like to wear my Miraculous medal out .
Kind of hard to keep the two from tangling, that’s why I tied the medal to my scapular in the end.

I wear a Miraculous Medal and Crucifix over all my clothes during the day and then I sleep with them on also. Jason Evert calls the MM a “spiritual bullet” and the Crucifix is a great reminder of what true love is, Jesus on the cross. Only time I take them off is when I shower, otherwise they are on 24/7 (I’m 20YO in college for context)

I do know a few people that wear the brown scapular but I do not personally. I did have a green scapular in my room growing up

I currently wear both. I always wear the Brown Scapular, and switch between the MM and St Benedict crucifix.
