I read somewhere that a Father James Carey did a revision of the Douay Rheims New Testament in 1935.

As far as I know that would be the LAST revision of any part of the Douay Rheims before the project to produce the Confraternity Version commenced.

Does anyone know if his revision of the New Testament was a good one?

The only Bible I’ve been able to find like that is one at Biblio–it’s in NEW condition and the asking price is over $276.00!

If he could do a revision of the Douay Rheims New Testament in 1935–maybe someone could LIGHTLY do one of the entire Douay Rheims now–if not at least it’s something we could dream about!

Jerry-Jet,

Let me know if you ever run across a copy of Archbishop Kenrick’s version of the Douay-Rheims. He was a good linguist and had published several volumes before his death. I have never found a copy anywhere other than the Library of Congress. I am sure some Catholic universities have copies too, however. I wish someone would put these wonderful old Bible versions online.
