How’d the ruling family get the land in the first place?

If having the oil wealth of the gulf in the hands of its current holders is destabilizing to the world (it is) and if they use that wealth to spread extremism and fund people who kill Americans (they do), and if they oppress their people (they do) I see no moral problem in taking that wealth away from them.

I’m not proposing annexing it to the U.S., just establishing a more friendly and just regime.

No different than what we did when we invaded France in 1944.

The House of Saud is no more legitimate than the Vichy French government.
Well, the major differance is that the Vichy government of France was put into place and controlled by a government in a state of declaired war with us.

Yeah, well I’d like to know what goes on in the Saudi Royal Family when no westerners are around.

I’m guessing a majority of them support, both morally and financially, people who are at war with the U.S., and the whole Western world.

They support the Wahhabi sect, which is dedicated to expansion of Islam through all means necessary, including force, to the entire world.

They’re at war with us, but find it convenient to use us to protect them, we just won’t face the reality.

So amusing. So illegal.

The USA has absolutely no authority to march in and change people’s governments. And when they try to do it (because they have tried many times), it inevitably comes and bites them in the butt. (Especially in the Middle East.)

Iran and Iraq are two strikingly different examples. The USA reinstated the Shah over a democratically elected government in Iran. And the USA deposed of a dictator in order to force a democracy on the people. Most recently you can look to Somalia for a similar example of what happens when the USA tries to change a country’s government. The USA needs to get out of the business of changing government it doesn’t like, and fast–that is what breeds global instability and hatred against Americans.

Please reflect upon the immortal words of Thomas Jefferson, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

You are welcome to look at Gallup polls of Muslims around the world to see what they support. Who Speaks For Islam?: What a Billion Muslims Really Think

I’m not talking about average Muslims, who are probably quite reasonable, I’m talking about the Saudi Royal Family, and there Wahhabi clerics, who are corrupt, barbaric, support terrorism, and support a form of Islam that makes them enemies of any non-Islamic extremists.

When someone wants you dead, or enslaved, I believe you have a great deal of moral lattitude to pre-empt them.

I wouldn’t stop the Saudis from having a Wahhabi government if they want. I’d just take their oil away so they couldn’t do any mischief in the world.

Dead or enslaved? LOL

I guess you don’t know the meaning of “illegal” and “immoral.”

Just like you don’t know the meaning of “Wahhabi” either.

Just remember whose funds those crazy Saudis matched dollar-for-dollar to fight the Soviet Union back in the 80’s. (Ours!) Just remember whose military-industrial complex survives thanks in part to arms build-up by the Saudi gov’t. (Ours!) In case you didn’t know… 🙂

The issue is that apparently adherents of Islam are cruel, bloodthirsty and murderous. Even in times of joy (wedding celebrations), these wackos shoot guns into the air. I can see fireworks, but guns?
Well said GemmaRose, the prophecies in the Bible must be fulfilled:

(GEN 16:11-12):
The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.

The Saudi legal and court system is entirely based on Islam–the Qur’an is the “Constitution” of Saudi Arabia. So any corruption in the Saudi legal system means that Islam itself is a corrupt religion. (And a demon-inspired religion, I might add).
Yes indeed, Quran is the constitution of Saudi Arabia:
It is the fundamental assumption of the polity of Saudi Arabia that the Holy Qur’an is more suitable for Saudi Muslims than any secular constitution.”

I do not understand how such great people like him and Sam can grow up in such conditions. I find it basically impossible to imagine. It is a testament to the boundless grace of God, isn’t it? May people continue to help one another, and to reach out to God in the prison cells of KSA and everywhere else.
Actually that led me to discover Muhammed’ fruits, I think its a good experience to see and know how Satan lives, thus you would get immunity for future deceives.

Quite frankly, I wonder why we don’t just take the oil. No one really lives in the oil rich areas. We’d probably take less casualties in seizing the fields than we do fighting insurgency for one month in Iraq or Afghanistan.

We could establish a homeland for Christian Arabs, located right on top of those nice oil fields. Give them arms and training, like we do with Israel, and one American Armored Division based there just in case.

Bye bye funding for jihadists. Bye bye OPEC’s power.

Seems like no downside to me.
No fellow bilop, Jesus said my kingdom is not of this world, leave those earthy countries to the master of this world (Satan).
