Doctor was nice....but there's a LONG, hard, painful road ahead before surgery.

Thank you all for your kind and supportive replies. They mean a lot to me right now. They really do. I don’t get them in real life. :grouphug:

I’m super hesitant about the BCP cause of the abortifacient feature. I’d feel like I couldn’t have sex. Also even if we did decide to have sex since we’ve been using NFP to avoid, at my husbands wishes, then I’d feel guilty that the contraceptive effects was making it so we didn’t have to go through the hardships of NFP.

At least with a hysterectomy no babies would be hurt (or heaven forbid killed!) and so we could still have marital sex.

I can feel my mind just totally loosing it over this. I’m going to wind up in the psych ward again I can feel it. Oh goody! More fun. 😦
Convert, I have been praying for you as I read your threads, although I often don’t contribute because I just don’t know much about what you’re experiencing. That being said, I did have something to say about this post in particular. (And if it’s too weird, blame it on the middle of the night. :p)

Have you.considered that NFP may not be a cross God is calling you to take on? Most people using NFP aren’t simultaneously experiencing debilitating pain and mental illness on both sides. It’s a cross, to be sure, but not everybody is called to take it up.

I’m not saying “take the easy way out.” But we are not called to take on as much suffering as possible. You know what the Church permits. You know that you suffer from mental illness. I’m not sure it’s wise, with that in mind, to let your feelings hold so much sway over your decision making.

Please know I really do wish the best for you.:hug1:

Yes!

I hate my life. :crying:

So I went to the surgeon today. It looks like I have to see ANOTHER doctor and get 3 GI tests. Not totally surprising, but not happy with another specialist getting mixed in, thought he would do the tests himself. 🤷 He’s pretty sure there’s nothing else wrong (besides the Endometriosis) but wants to make sure. Fine, whatever. He thinks I need a full hysterectomy and oophorectomy (wish I could get crazy Napro doctor to agree to that.:banghead:) Then when that’s all done I have to re-coordinate with the Napro GYN and see if he’s on the same page still. (I’m beginning to DESPISE Napro technology for Endometriosis treatment ) THEN I will get the surgery if they all agree it the best option. (((((SIIIIIIIIGH))))

So lucky me! I don’t know what the heck is going on but it looks like a long hard road ahead and at least a couple months before they operate. Nobody wants to be the responsible one. They keep passing me back and forth like a hot potato. While I continue being doped up on narcotics and can’t work or do much of anything (including sex with hubby) but lay like a lump.

Not a happy camper today. :crying:
I’m sorry that you are going through such difficulty. You saw this new fellow because the Napro doc recommended him right?

And everyone involved in your care is aware of your mental health?

I don’t have anything close to what you have, I have PCOS but a type that doesn’t present all the symptoms, except if you look at my ovaries, they look all cysty (not very big ones) but I do have a paratubal cyst that is bigger than my ovary, but it has no vascular system so doctor didn’t think it needs to go, I’ve probably had it forever.

But these are really nothing compared to your problems.

I do want you to know my Mom had a hysterectomy in her late 40’s. Even though she was past having kids ( I think I was 21 when she had the surgery) it did take almost a year, of procedures and second opinions and consults before she had the hysterectomy She had very bad fibroids. They were overly cautious because it is a big surgery and there are side effects as well.

I’ll keep you in my prayers, and try to stay optimistic.

+1

Also, Never doubt that God is with you.
Sometimes we have to cooperate with Him, meaning:
Give yourself a break already! Does God ask that you be miserable? No.
I think you are burning way too many candles…at both ends even.
You have to think of your health. Your spiritual life can still be true, faithful, and profound…but honestly. You are thinking of all the worst case scenarios and THAT is what is making you bonkers.
Get to a sensible Doctor that is not basing all his decisions on 27 what if’s.
Get the treatment you need, nothing extra. One hurdle at a time. Christ will be beside you the entire way. Really. Yup. And all of our prayers in your pocket too.
If you are blessed with children, you will be. If you are not, it doesn’t mean you failed. It doesn’t mean God or your husband doesn’t love you. Everyone has struggles. Yours are painful and confusing. Illness and your body being out of whack is never a quick fix.
Even as I write this I’m thinking: she’s got too many people whispering in her ear, and here I am talking to you.
But dear one…get on board with a fine physician, not someone who specialized in something else entirely.
Life IS worth it.
The issue of sex is a personal one between you and the hubs. Are you in love? You’ll likely have sex, and it will enrich your marriage.
Too many candles burning at both ends. One thing at a time. It won’t happen overnight. God hears you, We pray for you.
Be at peace. Only you can get ahold of your situation. Be brave.
