I’m not sure this is a biblically sound service though. Why should you communicate with the godless? Unless it is to say, “na na na na boo boo, told you so!”
 
A good friend of mine was raised in a nominally Catholic home. He became an associate member of the Sisters of Mercy and worked with them on some of the projects they ran, AIDS House, food services for the elderly, visiting the sick…his mom evenutally became involved in a Pentacostal group…she left him and his siblings tape recordings explaining what had taken place when she “disappeared” along with millions. She had purchased each of them a New American Standard Bible and marked up passages and included them along with the tapes concerning “bible prophesey”. She had let each of them know where to look in her home for the tapes and Bibles should the rapture occur.

She died several years ago…and he has the box marked with his name on it with the Bible and tapes. He and I have had numerous discussions concerning the type of theology…he has since left the Sister’s of Mercy and is very involved in Religious Science and at times Unity. I have attended with him a few times and he with me to Meeting.

I am amazed at the varieties of religious expression as people search for meaning in their lives and union with the Eternal.

Ok, I looked at the site. It says it is run by Christians for Christians and 6 days after the Rapture, the messages will be sent out.

Who’s going to do that? If the Rapture takes the Christians out of the world, leaving the non-believers behind, who’s going to be running their business? Is there some kind of ‘trigger’ that automatically sends this stuff on?

The scarey part is that I know people who might actually be serious about this. The mind boggles.

I wondered that, too. I thought they must have to have some heathen on board. 🙂

The site says that, if 3 out of 5 of their administrators (who are scattered around the country) fail to log in after 3 days, the sequence is initiated. Then, after 3 more days (as a failsafe), the messages are automatically sent out.
 
Well… At least our Evangelical brothers and sisters are thinking ahead…

I’ve just realized there’s a critical flaw with this system. It’s run “by Christians, for Christians”. Doesn’t that mean the admins will be raptured? Leading the this service never sending out “rapture emails” and the servers crashing?

It was an episode of Law & Order SVU a few years ago. They only had three on rapture watch and one was murdered as the other two had taken the night off for a vacation if memory serves, so emails went out.

On second thought it wasn’t SVU, it was the original with the new team of cops and ADAs. The Black cop was a believer while the White one laughed at people of faith

The critical flaw is that some people are sending them sensitive information like bank accounts, social security numbers, and… Wait. What could possibly go wrong with that???🤷

Sounds like the Better Business Bureau needs to be given a call… 😃

Also what would people need with all that stuff that they would have to be secured? I mean…didn’t Jesus say something about storing treasures in heaven, not on earth…? 🤷

He did, he did.

But, maybe he wasn’t being very “literal” and had a symbolic meaning to that. Wonder what the symbolic meaning would be though…🤷

A British minister came up with the idea about the Rapture over 110 years ago…Later, he admitted he was wrong and left it.

(Imagine an airplane and then the pilot is raptured…I asked some people what happens to everybody else on board, and they giggle…I didn’t pursue the conversation).
 
When we are purified, we will be taken up to the Lord in the twinkling of an eye, one soul at a time…

When the Biggie comes, it will be the end of heaven and earth as we know it…

Jesus Christ will never come back to this earth.

We will be given a new heaven and a new earth…we don’t know the day or hour and it scares the hell out of me.

So I would rather be present to today and in spite of myself trust in Christ’s mercy and be merciful to others…try to…
