Are we getting a break this year? I haven’t seen the usual anti-Catholic documentaries about discoveries which condemn us on History Channel, Discovery or National Geographic yet!

Wait til Easter. I guarentee you, anti-Catholicism will fly, and people will once again question whether or not politicans can recieve Holy Communion - just like every other year now!

And for the record:
In 2004, the then Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (now Pope Benedict XVI) instructed the Bishops of the United States as follows:
Regarding the grave sin of abortion or euthanasia, when a person’s formal cooperation becomes manifest (understood, in the case of a Catholic politician, as his consistently campaigning and voting for permissive abortion and euthanasia laws), his Pastor should meet with him, instructing him about the Church’s teaching, informing him that he is not to present himself for Holy Communion until he brings to an end the objective situation of sin, and warning him that he will otherwise be denied the Eucharist.
I bet the same people who voted for Obama will say things like “Well, the bishop didn’t instruct so and so, so it must be okay for him/her to recieve Holy Communion!” and “Such and such a bishop/priest/deacon/cardninal said it’s okay for so and so to recieve Holy Communion, so it must be true!” Let us pray for those who confuse and are confused themselves.

You are absolutely right, I hadn’t noticed that yet this year.
Eucharisted is probably right, doesn’t it normally happen closer to Easter?
I’m sure someone will find Jesus’ tomb any day now…

Exactly. And once again they’ll drag out Elaine Pagels and John Dominic Crossan to interview. Maybe also Bart Ehrman this year, since he “came out” as an atheist. According to the History Channel, these are the only biblical scholars in the English-speaking world.

It’s because they are too busy anointing Obama and elevating him to Messiah status. 😃

PBS big time–from the Crossan vehicle (Frontline, “From Jesus to Christ”) to the re-shown “Secrets of the Dead: Battle for the Bible”–the later being a significant for not have one Catholic Scholar to refute the myth of the Catholic Church hating Scripture–seems like the producers never even heard of Fr. Henry Graham Where We Got the Bible (1912)
