Does a Hybrid Have a Soul?

Good question.

Can you tell me where I can find the “soul” part of the body in a regular human being? Once that’s established we can start looking for it in our hybrid neighbors.
 
excellent question. goes to heart of the “ensoulment” theory. if a human soul is present at the moment of conception (catholic teaching) and if the hybrid is “human” then yes. i believe the first to be true. it’s the second that makes me stop and think. Right now I’d have to say I don’t know. the described situation claimed 99.9% human and it appeared to be viable so one would think if allowed to progress it could have been implanted (technically not legally) and thus could have resulted in a human birth. That makes me lean to the yes but I don’t know enough about this to know if it really could have become a live human. The chance is strong enough that I can’t condone the experiment.

Technically, the original human embryo was killed in order to remove the cell. That human had a soul.

What is being grown is a cow egg, with human DNA. So if it were implanted anywhere, it could be either human or bovine.

This is really a sick experiment. And Lord help us if they actually work at growing such a creature to maturity.
 
Hold on…this article explains the process in more detail.

The human cell nucleus is taken from a skin cell. The nucleus is removed from a cow egg, and the skin cell nucleus is inserted. And embryo is stimulated to grow by electric shock.

In the UK, this is legally a human cell.

Very bizarre, if not creative.

The cells can never become more than a glob of cells.

Fertilization has never occurred, and the cells of a human egg or sperm have not been used. There isn’t a soul in this glob of cells, any more than there is a soul in laboratory grown skin.
 
well now thats different. no embryo or to be more specific no fertilized egg means no conception which would then mean no soul. still…seems creepy. what would happen if it were allowed to grow?
 
My real fear is what IF some crazy scientist decides on his own to get this cell fertilized without the government knowing about it? We know only what they are reporting, NOT what they are possibly hiding.:eek:

May God have mercy on us all if they manage to fertilize and grow a hybrid to birth maturity.
 
This is a misleading question. Genetic material is being combined between species for the purpose of examining stem cells, not to create a man cow. At one point there was a combination of genes that was human, but its development was interrupted.

I believe a soul is perfectly formed and pre-known by the Father, designed to live a life.

So, if at one point there was a normally developing human, the Father sees that potential human in its perfect fullness as a soul. The human had a soul, this is nothing more than genetic material that can no longer develop a body.
 
Crossbreeding of species was something that angered God a lot before the Flood of Noah.

Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

i don’t believe that is the case. There is nothing in the article that states the Human dna was taken from an embryo.

The hybrid contains 99.9% human dna. It wouldn’t be a bovine no matter where it was implanted. And the hybrids don’t live past 3 days and it is illegal to allow them to live past 14 days, which is not even possible at present.
This is really a sick experiment. And Lord help us if they actually work at growing such a creature to maturity.

It allows for stem cell research without using a human embryo.
 
Embryo: the young of a viviparous animal, esp. of a mammal, in the early stages of development within the womb, in humans up to the end of the second month.
