Does a recorded replay count as prayer?

How valid is a recorded prayer. On the radio they keep asking us to pray a memorare to reach the 200,000,000 but then they play a recorded version. Wouldn’t it be more significant if that prayer was done live instead of “ let’s press play and add another one to the count”. Something just seems off to me.

Audio recordings can’t pray.

People, however, can pray, and the audio recording can get everybody on the same page.

Sounds like they are playing it for the hundreds or thousands of listeners to pray along .

The audio is just an aid to prayer. Maybe they are estimating there are X number of listeners at a time, so each time they play the audio it is being prayed the same X many times. The number doesn’t really matter. It’s just to keep people motivated. More commonly I have seen things like a “year of prayer” and every four hours, for example, they ask everyone to say the prayer.

I doubt Jesus or Mary use a clicker to count the times a prayer is recited.

Yes I understand it’s to get more people to pray. I just feel it would b more effective for the radio host to take the two minutes to pray it instead of just pressing play

Much of what you hear on the radio isn’t live - different promos, etc. are aired at specific times. I remember thinking (when I was 4 yrs old) that all these different people were at the radio station singing into the microphone - no concept that there was a DJ playing singles.
