Oh dear…I am in trouble now. Vegan here…think of all those poor little veggie souls I’ve eaten. Why just this morning I picked soemthing from my garden, and ate it. Yum! And later I plan to have some tomato sandwiches and cut up cucumbers…:whistle:

Way back when I went to a science fair competition at some college, for high school kids I think. They conducted some controlled experiments in plant growth using various types of music: classical, rock (70s rock anyway), country and something else. Their conclusion was that the plants grew better with music, and that it didn’t matter what kind but the louder the better.

Plants must have very non-judgmental souls if they thrive listening to country music played loud. :eek:

This is not necessarily a completely ridiculous question. There’s enough “out there” in the world of research to call us to keep an open mind on the subject.

I have two books in my library claiming that plants react negatively, in somatically-verifiable ways, to bad thoughts of people.

So, in one experiment, a researcher supposedly attached lie detector electrodes to a plant, took out a pack of matches, and lit a match, and while merely moving toward the plant as though to burn the leaves, the lie detector tape drew lines suggesting that the plant was reacting badly to the mere intent to incinerate.

Hey, don’t dump that kind of corn on God’s own favorite, country music! :eek:

I have it on good authority that plants grow best listening to RAP – They not only grow bigger, but they also evolve legs and try to run away! :rotfl:

Personally, you’ve struck my interest BearFan. I was always taught that man acquired a soul to distinguish him from the other creatures when God “breathed into him” at creation. I’ll have to do some research on that…

OK I’ll admit when I used to go to company parties with bosses I didn’t like, they had country music dj or live band usually. I did like that one song about friends in low places, and I’m not sure it’s so much the lyrics but I just love the chords in it. I don’t know music theory so I can’t describe it, but there is something really catchy in it I think.

I’m also very sorry for being very sorry before. That is, except for being sorry to have offended. I made a very absolutist comment about country music and admitted relativism because there is at least one exception.

I appreciate that because I feel like I put myself in one on a regular basis. Including here and now. :o

Then again, I play tough but I really get sensitive when I think I might have hurt someone I wasn’t trying to. :whistle:

I remember that, but they could only use corn. It’s the only pant with ears. They threw up when the '70’s rock was played, though. It was terrible, little kernels all over the place.
