Does a wedding liturgy fulfill the Sunday obligation?

Does attending a wedding on a Saturday evening fulfill the Sunday obligation to attend Mass? I was raised to believe that it does not because the Scripture readings are different. However, most people disagree with me, and many priests say that the wedding liturgy counts.
