Does alien abduction (If true) contradict the bible?

Well, it’s obvious. April 5, 2063, is 4/5/63. The sum of 4 and 5 is 9, or the Trinity squared. The sum of 6 and 3 is likewise 9. April of 2063 is 56 years from now. 5 plus 6 equals 11. 2 plus 0 (the remaining numbers in the 2063) equals 2, and 11 minus 2 also equals 9. These three 9s written together are 999, or 666 upside down and backwards. So you are writing on behalf of the Antichrist.

As I said, it’s obvious.
Are you some kind of mystic math dude?

Regarding C.S. Lewis on unfallen aliens, alien contact, etc.: Of course, there’s his novel “Perelandra.” But for a much shorter and more direct discussion, I’d recommend his essay “Religion and Rocketry” in the book “The World’s Last Night and Other Essays.”

Whichever way this pans out, it will be used against Christianity. If there are aliens, skeptics will say, “See, life exists elsewhere in the universe, we aren’t so special, and God doesn’t exist.” If there are no aliens anywhere, skeptics will say, “See, the universe is a blank lifeless place, we are a random exception, and God doesn’t exist.”
Personally, i think the grays are remote controlled Robots.
Im gonna check out those books by C.S.

Do you think there are a bunch of wacko gray aliens abducting people for some kind of scientific or sick pleasure?

I hear Jack Van Impe believes in them…he claims they are the ‘devil and his demons’ who reside in the realm of a second heaven between the third one and our atmosphere:D … someone should enlighten him to let him know angelic beings do not have physical properties or bodies.

Anyway I do not think ET’s contradict Scripture, just no real hard concrete evidence of their reality.

One more book to look at, but a MUCH tougher read than the others mentioned: “Christianity and Extraterrestrials: A Catholic Perspective,” by Marie George. Published in 2005.

Can I believe in aliens, alien abduction, and be a Catholic believing Christian? What do you think?

Aliens are our equivalent of faeries, changelings, mermaids, water-horses, trolls & giants - the natural world has no room for those to exist (it is too well known) so they are no longer seen. Because we live in a time of interest in interplanetary travel, when this interest finds expression in scientifiction, people sees aliens from other planets instead of trolls or faeries.

The oceans are still largely unknown - so stories of giant krakens strong enough to break up ships can still be treated as plausible: aliens from distant planets seem plausible only because interstellar space is unexplored. The same holds for the human mind - the oceans & the human mind are incompletely mapped, so it is still possible to weave fantasies about them. But the better the world is known, the less room there is in it for the fantastic and the marvellous. And people need the marvellous in some form - they need something to feed their imaginations. And belief in the existence of aliens helps to satisfy this need - as does belief in the existence of angels or of faeries. IMO anyway.

Aliens satisfy a further need - that of being a threat. Societies need threats, so that their shared dislike of them can bind them together & help them sink their differences. Jews, Communists, & Freemasons have had this function - perhaps aliens do as well; especially as they are so elusive; if we could get our hands on a real dead alien, they would cease to be elusive, & we would have got the better of them; so we would need yet other enemies in their place. So it’s important to that function that they remain uncaptured. And a space alien is not going to be easy to capture; it’s out there, it does no ascertainable harm, it never entirely vanishes - & it is valuable as source of entertainment: so it is an ideal threat. If society were different - the threat to it would be. Which why is tenth-century peasants & fifteenth-century nuns did not see aliens, while people in the USA from 1945 onward have. ##

I predict Christianity will be falsified on April 5, 2063.

I will leave it up to you to figure out why I choose that date.

As we learn from “Enterprise”, that is when a bunch of fearful rednecks kill their first Vulcan visitors.

This is 90 years before T’pol serves with Captain Archer - which is 130 years before Spock serves on a later “Enterprise” with Captain Kirk.

None of which falsifies Christianity 🙂

As for prediction - if that prediction is true, it must have been true in the past, & since the beginning of time; otherwise it cannot be true in the future. But if it was true in the past, it must be true now. But it is not now true. Therefore it is false. So it can be - and in fact is -simultaneously true & false. And false predictions are not true.

See, I told you. It’s the whole Antichrist thing.

Excellent! :clapping:

Also, to add if you dont mind but its also a religion to those really involved. People want those aliens to rescue us, and even Save us.

Something about those abductions, if the person calls out to Christ during them, apparentely the abduction stops.

Personally, I think that all of these things (UFOs, ghosts, bigfoot, etc.) are the result of demonic activity because it’s not unusual for so-called UFO abductees to also experience poltergeists, experience symptoms of possession, etc. Before flying saucers, people saw phantom airships. The Devil loves to deceive.

yes and in those instances calling out in the name of Jesus stops the activity, it makes sense.

One hopes I wasn’t sinful in being amused by a T-shirt I saw last month:
“MY PARENTS WERE ABDUCTED BY UFOs
AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY CHIP AT THE BASE OF MY SKULL.”

in America alone 298,444,215 people(1), 82% of the population owns a camera (2).

not one credible, definitive picture.

not one.

you can tell me my house is on fire… but if i don’t smell or see smoke, and a week passes, and i’m still laying on the sofa watching reruns of my favorite martian in my PJs… i’m going to have to say the house probably isn’t on fire.
the people who espouse the alien theories tell me a lot of words… but they have NOT ONE shred of hard evidence to back their claim.

I wondered about this as well. One question I pondered is that the Son came to earth incarnate as a human (in our image) and now remains such for eternity. If there are rational beings elsewhere that have souls, why would humanity have the “dibs” on God’s likeness? Or is that likeness something different than mere human anatomy? Or can the Son have human *and *“whatever-else” forms? What is in line with the revelation we have?

Also, we assume a advanced alien race must be endowed with a rational soul. However, that may not be the case. There could be a race that is far more intelligent than us but be purely instinctual or lack the reason to decide between good and evil. In such a case, to be visited by them in a war of the worlds scenario wouldn’t logically refute Christianity or the idea that we alone are God’s people.

Very interesting stuff to me - I could type all night…

One thing LT is if there was other life forms, Gods aware of them. And if He is the Creator of all things, then He would have created them. He created the angels and they are different than us. We are created in His image, He doesnt look like us, its the other way around. 🙂

We are not even hospitable to us 😃 so you are right not to assume that other life forms are. Perhaps, they would be kind, but only if their knees (if they have em) bow at the feet of our Lord God the Creator, and honor His will.

If they were there your right it makes no never mind for Christianity, and God said we were His children and nothing can displace His Word.

Although its interesting to think about other life, you must keep it in perspective. Its good to not think of other life as superior to us. I bet that sounds arrogant, but I can explain. If they are superior with technology, smarts, a kinder, gentler lifestyle, soon a thought will come.

The thought that they could be something to aspire to, a goal to seek out. Wouldnt it be great if we could find them? then we could leave this life and start again. Then one looks at this world as something to escape, after all theres no shortage of reasons. In short these people or whatever they are could fix this planet with their knowledge, solve our problems, they could well, save us.

Thats the problem, even if they were there, they cannot save us. Only God who Created us can. And when our minds are filled with escape, we forget to love our neighbours and help our fellow man. It may sound fantastic, but this is what happens when some peoples eyes look for aliens rather than God. They become a substitute saviour. 🙂
