yes I am. its when people do nothing to correct him. or if the movie doesnt correct him.

the movie did correct him. the movie says cussing is bad and it corrected him.

cussing in halo doesnt correct Sgt.Johnson when he cusses. nor does it say that cussing is bad.

And please examine what the two of us are saying. You have agreed that just the use of a cuss word is not exalting it. So we are saying that Stargate unlike some other movies is also not exalting it.
 
Mini Gerbel you just said that it was not wrong for “The Passion of the Christ” to contain a curse word. Does that not mean that that movie contains a curse word?
 
I think even the Pope would not find Stargate falling under his words of perverted entertainment. He meant them for movies much worse that do tend to galmorize foul language just for its sake, or violence.

yes because it corrects peter and doesnt exalt cussing by peter feeling sorry and knowing he did a foolish thing

how do you know? stargate exalts evil. and thats what the pope said not to watch. anything that exalts evil

Did you ever seriously read Ezechiel 23? Your conditions would have banned this book from the Bible for its graphic depiction. Give it a try and check back with me.

He made a general statement. It is you that decided to target a specific movie that many here on the forums enjoy.

I agree with you. In fact, I no longer have a TV set in my living room, and it hasn’t been there for ten years. I just got tired of watching shows that offended me in many ways over and over again. And, I am aware of the effect they have on others.

My TV set is now in my guest room, and I do not have cable. I use it only to watch a very good DVD when I have the opportunity to do so.

When I have guests in my living room there is no longer any distractions to our conversation.

Well the first post alone in this thread exalts the poster over all the Stargate fans. The poster is setting himself as some sort of judge of the rst of us which would be a sin as well.
 
Also, by this logic, are all Superhero movies/ tv shows sinful, because they have violence in them? Batman Spiderman and Superman are vigilantes who go around fighting people, can we watch those shows?

no please dont say this agian. its only not okay if it exalts violence, I have been through this alot with goofy jim
 
Keep in mind, that not EVERYTHING in this world is 100% good, and not EVERYTHING in this world is 100% evil.
 
Well I will keep on watching Stargate. My scruples aren’t that bad. Although I’m not feeling up to snuff this evening so I will retire early. Goodnight.
