You know, I am probably going against the grain here, but I wish the church had chosen a middle way between the TLM, where I can only partially understand the ordinary, and the propers not at all.
And the casual English of Novus Ordo which is just outright pedestrian IMHO.
I think we could have to our profit have used more formal, reverent English. Like and with thy spirit instead of and also with you.
I read a few years ago about the Holy Father and a liturgical commision working on a new more reverent translation, what ever became of that?
By the way in the religious congregation I was in we did not use the Episcopal BCP, we used the modern Liturgy of the Hours, I am a Catholic of course.
But I have heard, that the Episcopal church does have religious communities.
