Does anybody know what specific Padre Pio work or saying this young woman was referring to?

She starts off with a slightly humorous take on somebody’s mistake of her identity at Mass, and then rapidly becomes profound. I would very much like to read more about what Padre Pio said about the eternity of the Mass. Please watch from about 1:54 to 7:38:

Thank you.

I think she’s referring to two things, one is that when we have mass we are celebrating the same original mass over again, or still. That’s an idea, I’m not sure either frankly.

Secondly that Padre Pio believed we could pray for someone even after they were in heaven. That say a person died in pain for example that we’d could pray even after their death for relief of that pain during their death and somehow that prayer would have power in the past.

I expect others will explain it better…but we’re getting a little closer I think!

I’ve read quite a bit about Padre Pio and the second idea is a little obscure and I don’t remember where exactly I read it either.

@Lee1 the story you read didn’t have something to do with something blowing up in a man’s eye AFTER padre pio prayed that he hopes his friend doesn’t die or come to no harm
Did it?

No, that was amazing though wasn’t it. The man was to blow up a rock or something and went back because it hadn’t gone off and it exploded and he was blinded and burnt. One eye was pulp and the other was damaged or missing? And he could see following Padre Pios intervention through prayer. I’m sorry I’m tired but I’ll look it up later and check the details.

There was also a little girl, still alive, who could see following his intercession and she’d been blind because she had no pupils!

Yes it was amazing.

This thread has inspired me to read about Padre Pio again

Could you please tell me what work that was that you are reading over again? Thank you.

This is a very good book. I have it. The author, C. Bernard Ruffin, a Lutheran pastor, appeared on an episode of Sunday Night Live on EWTN back in 2011. It is viewable on Youtube. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I think it goes like this, he was blind when a plank of wood got stuck between his eyes after an explosion and thus after the accident an acquaintance took him to visit Fr Padre Pio, during the confession he requested fr to pray for him, to at least get back one eye and then after the confession, got back one eye ,he then complained to fr he got only one eye back and in reply, fr pio said you should have asked for both eyes ,whenever you ask anything from God ask for more.because he’s generous than you ever think.

this is another one

Thank you so much for this; it looks like I am going to have a Padre Pio evening. 🙂

I’m still watching the first video I posted, but that looks good too.

Thank you so much everybody!😀

She’s been saying rosaries in the evenings on youtube. She skipped this weekend but is slated to say another one on Monday evening.

In case she ever reads this (probably not even a member of this site), I would like her to do a rosary with the glorious mysteries. She’s got three out of the four types, but we still don’t have a glorious mystery rosary.

Finally, tonight she led a glorious mystery rosary. We now have a complete collection:
