Libera is this popular boys choir from the South London area in England and over the years they’ve gained a lot of international popularity. Their music is all over youtube and it is incredible. If you haven’t heard of them give them a listen and see if you like them.

Anyways I am a major fan I have listened to many many many of their songs. I couldn’t tell you what my favourite song is because there are too many but a few of my favourites are

Sempiterna
Sanctus
Be Still My Soul
I am the Day
Vespera
Lux Aeterna
and so many more

Do you like Libera? Which songs?

I am a public school music teacher and have showed my students a couple clips of Libera. Some of my toughest students were inspired by the boys’ skills, their commitment, and of course their fame. It was awesome to hear my boys talking about Libera and saying they wished they could be in a boys’ choir!!!

So yeah, I love Libera. I love their version of “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” – but then, that’s one of my favorite songs of all time.

God bless you!

My favourite Libera track is “May the road rise up…”. It was played at the graveside of someone I loved and was so beautiful. Also enjoy “How can I keep from singing”.
God bless you:)

That is awesome 😃 I did buy the 2011 Christmas album and I do love that version of O Come O Come Emmanuel.

I love How can I keep from singing one of my favourites 🙂

Yes, I love Libera! 🙂

I think a friend had first introduced me to them, and I was pretty amazed, to say the least! I haven’t really bought any of their albums, though. But I have bought a few of their individual songs on Amazon, since it’s much cheaper (like 99cents or so per song). 😃

The songs that I did love enough to buy are:

Adore Te
Eternal Light
Sanctus
Song of Live
I am the Day
How Can I Keep From Singing
Love and Mercy

I definitely love the older albums from 1997 to 2011 but I mostly just search on youtube because its free. But I loved the 2011 album so much that I had to get it. I really hope they come back to Canada… They were in my town in 2011 and I didn’t know about it.

LOVE Libera! <3 🙂

First heard of them, of all things, on (Music from the) Hearts of Space on NPR. (Kind of both an NPR fan and a spacemusic geek!) Was just stunned by the unity and purity of their voices!

Favorite songs of theirs have to be “Sanctus (II)” (with the little “bridge” there dropped in the middle) and “Gloria” inspired, I believe, by Saint-Saens Organ Symphony(?). The latter is just so powerful and elevates the soul! Also like “Sacris Solemnis” and “Gaudete” for their rhythmic quality/instrumentation.

When I was student teaching Latin not long ago, I had my mentor teacher listen to their first Sanctus on YouTube and he just sat there for like 5 minutes afterward in rather stunned and awed silence. 🙂

BTW, Enya does amazing versions of “How Can I Keep From Singing” as well as “Veni Emmanuel” (In Latin! BTW!)! 🙂 🙂

Musically Nerdily Yours,
M.
