Yes, apparently it is being aired now. I have no idea when it comes to Netflix which is how I view it.

I have seen the Father Brown series ages ago. It is not a bad show.

I like Midsommer Murders, but there at least three murders per episode. The killers have guts since two of the murders are committed with the cops all over the place investigating the first one.

I guess it is Season 6 airing now and Season 7 has not been renewed yet.
I don’t know how long it takes to get to Netflix. That is normally where I watch it too.

I agree with all of the author’s complaints. But I specifically remember those points as the few I could really have a problem with. Father Brown is frequently hearing confession and always administering last rites. The character isn’t exactly true to Chesterton’s but probably the best we can get from the secular media in our time.

I love Father Brown. I’ve only seen the recent series, though. I like the show’s focus on compassion.

I really enjoyed the series, good humor.

The brits do a great job with their period pieces,
maybe they have lots of towns that look like they’re in the 40’s

I love Midsommer Murders! My step-father used to joke that between each season they bring a busload of new residents into the town to be killed off in the next season.

I quite like the new BBC Fr Brown. As others have said it’s not faithful to Chesterton’s original intent, but it does make a good detective show which is different from the others, and has some interesting English Catholic aspects.

I saw a few episodes, but my father watched more and said that at some point, they were having too many things that didn’t belong there. My guess is that there were some things opposed to Catholic teaching. Personally, it didn’t look like the Father Brown from the stories, and I did not care for the gossipers

I think I recall this one. I had forgotten about it. It was two lesbians if I recall. One other episode they have where there is a lesbian secret admirer. The unaware target of this interest seemed to react with discomfort at the idea. I don’t have a problem with either (though I do tire of the agenda of course) so long as Father Brown isn’t approving or suggesting the Church is behind the times. As a modern show goes at least there is far less of this being pushed.

Grantchester is set in England in the1950s stars James Norton( rumored to be the next James Bond) handsome bloke. A vicar challenged with a married girl friend, a gay protégé and a crooked bishop with a best friend who is a married cop whom he helps solve crimes…pretty good little series which ends on a good note with most of his problems sorted out by the end of the series…pretty clean…I’d say PG13

Thinking of murder mysteries, I enjoyed Death in Paradise series.

It’s British/French produced and based in the Caribbean

The only Paradise murder mysteries I’ve watched were with Tom Selleck…lol
I watched a good series recently on Amazon Prime GrantChester it’s about a vicar…not a priest pretty clean and some good mysteries. Vicar teams up with a local, cop in England 1950 era…James Norton stars rumored to be the next James Bond…I will look up your series though…love a good mystery…Thanks
