Does anyone here have trouble with friends?

To be honest, I think you should tell them off and stop being friends with them. I know I’m Christian but I would never try to force my beliefs on a child or a teenager because I’d want them (not that I have a right to) to find out things for themselves and not be forced through humiliation and guilt to accept something as good. If I had a friend like that, I’d meet them up in private and tell them just that and how I’m am frankly ticked off at how they’re not even attempting to enter discussion but are just spouting off random stuff just to annoy me. Even if you can bear an opinionated friend, having them force their beliefs upon your children is sick and wrong.
My kids didn’t hesitate to defriend her. 🙂

She and I do a bit of business together, which is why I have not defriended her myself. Sadly, I think that business may come to an end because I’m getting tired of it.

The older I get ( and I’m only 28) the more I realize I really don’t care if I have friends if I can’t have my true opinions around them. There are several people I really don’t have much contact with anymore because our beliefs and priorities are so different. I don’t miss them at all…the funny thing is that they are the ones that changed.

Hey, you’re only 19. You might as well figure it out now. You’ll be happier in the long run.

I don’t have any friends, because I am catholic. I’m telling you the truth. The friends I did have hate catholics.
Maybe the word hate is not in order. I’ll say they don’t understand what it is to be catholic. They think it is out of the ordinary. A cult or something.

Guys, I’m sorry if I’m pathetically saying all this but I’m scared that when I make friends I will still be alone on the inside. I don’t want to treat any of my friends or colleagues as a way to pour my heart out because I feel that it’s a really selfish thing to do, that and it most probably won’t solve any of my problems. But at the same time I’m scared that I’ll have a nervous breakdown if nobody in the world wants to listen to what makes me tick and what I am so sad about. I feel that I can’t go up to any random friend, divulge my problems and lay them on their own shoulders. I’ve been battling depression for years and years and I have so many things I want to do, it’s overwhelming me and my mind. I don’t get any help from the people around me and I have to take care of business my family would otherwise forget to do. Honestly, some of them don’t understand or even care what I truly want my dream to be.

In essence, I have a lot of repressed anger because I’m scared that nobody in the world will ever be friends or marry me, myself as an individual. People aren’t set by destiny to meet up and be happy; you meet people of all kinds and anyone could end up with any who. Deep inside I may desire a Saintly princess but I know that type of person most probably will not be the person I meet. I just wish I could end up being with someone I really like whilst being someone she really likes, somebody I could hare everything from my feelings to interests with. It’s just that in my head a voice is telling me that nobody wants me to share my sob story. My biggest desire in life is just to make someone happy you know.

I think (actually I know) it is certainly possible to be friends with people with whom we disagree. Anyone who would refuse to be friends with you because of your pro-life views (or what have you) is going to be someone who doesn’t have many friends.
