Does anyone know anything about the cross used by the Pope this Easter?

Is it new? Was it used previously by another pope? Is it traditional for the Pope to not use a crucifix on Easter? (due to the celebration of the Ressurection maybe?)

It is the same one he used on Palm Sunday. Three other popes have carried it. John XXIII is one. I’ll look up the other ones.

Thanks for the info . A couple more questions, if you know the answer or where the answer is: Was it the everyday crosier of those Popes? Or did they have one with an actual crucifix on it? Was a crucifix on the crosier new with the Paul VI one (used by John Paul I and John Paul II as well?) What about the three bar one seen here:

Our member Caesar would be the one to answer that. I believe the one in the OP was used at various times by the past popes mentioned, and not the only one they used. Perhaps you could start a new thread and get better info. Or pm Caesar.
