Does anyone know anything about these monks?

I came across this sight a few months ago,and I want to know why these Benedictine monks believe what they believe and if their research is correct. www.vaticancatholic.com I do recognize that there veiws are very strong and may be offensive to many, but they are Benedictine monks. Long Live Christ the King!
 
Yeah, I’ve heard of them before. It’s a radical sede outfit. Stear clear.
 
I would love to become a monk but I’m too old, so they say. I’m basically a monk the way I am. Seldom do I go out of my apartment; no TV.

I visited some Benedictine monks last year and I left with a very favorable attitude.

In a nutshell they believe that the Vatican II Council ruptured the Church by teaching and supporting heresy. They believe that all Popes during and since the Council are in fact not true Popes but anti-popes. They believe that they are a part of the remaining true Church. They believe that the Ordinary Form of the Mass is heretical at best and blasphemous at worst. They totally reject the post conciliar Church and do not consider themselves to be part of it.

They believe the way they believe because of their interpretation of various Church documents both pre and post conciliar. They claim that Vatican II and decisions made by later Popes, notably Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI have in effect destroyed the Church and what is left in its place is nothing more than a cesspool of heresies…Those are their words.

They purport to offer ample proof of this on their website and there is a staggering amount of documentation there. From reading some of their postings one could come away with the idea that they are on to something and may be right about many things.

That is the main reason unless you are very well grounded in the Catholic faith you should stay away from the site.

Those New Camaldoli Benedictine Monks are really something. The Liturgy of the Word takes place in one space (you sit on benches with no backs, there is a simple ambo up front.) At the beginning of the Liturgy of the Eucharist everyone processes to the adjacent space shown on your URL. The ordained monks encircle the altar while the laity stand or kneel against the wall. Their chanting is awesome.

This is how an “essential” Mass should be and not like some of the gutted Masses many of us have been subjected to. I think in some ways it’s more difficult to celebrate the Mass they way do when compared to the full-foof Masses I so adore.

After the monks hug one another they turn to hug the laity. It’s done with such quiet dignity and love that I will never be of the feeling again that the sign of peace is a bad thing – if done reverently.

I’m sure the Mass would upset many “traditionalists” here (not that I noticed any actual abuses – it’s just “different” than what most expect) but the monks do it with a ton of love and reverence.
 
Thank you so much for the info so far,and I am still hopeing to here more. Some of thier prophecys they post on the end times and the Catholic Church being the center and the seat of the anti-christ are very scary. The one world religion and the Pope kissing the koran, in India paying his respect for thier hideous false gods, I am pretty well grounded in my faith and I know that the Pope takes the place of christ here on earth, but if Christ was here would he be kissing the Koran, or paying his respects to hindo gods? There is absolutly no salvation outside the Catholic Church.That I believe. Long Live Christ the King!

Let’s just click on that link…oh, it’s Most Holy Family Monastery! A group of folks (I don’t want to say nutjobs during Lent) who believe that John Paul II and Benedict XVI are non-Catholic anti-popes, The Divine Mercy devotion is on the same level as the “apparitions” at Bayside, there is an international banking conspiracy centered on the Federal Reserve Bank, the Holocaust did not happen and any country that has “anti-Holocaust” legislation is a “Jewish State”.

Yeah, wow, let’s see, go with these guys who claim that after 2000 years only they know the real truth or go with the successor of Peter and Vicar of Christ … hum…guys on a website or the Vicar of Christ…guys on a website or the Vicar of Christ…:hmmm:

No, they are not. They might have assumed the habit on their own, but they were not properly professed by anybody, which makes them either Sabyrites or Gyrovagues–both of whom were condemned by St. Benedict.
 
they appear to be “Pius V” monks. pius v is in schism with the church.

I doubt that, they condemn SSPV as heretics on the site see here

They just shouldn’t be trusted, period. I doubt it really matters what they call themselves, it’s them who’s heretical, and one with a mind ought to avoid them like the plague.
