Does anyone know the website for priests' names who allegedly had sexual misconduct?

I need to know WHERE I can go and not get the total run-around when trying to find out a list of Priests in my city who have been allegedly charged with sexual misconduct, if any.

So far, I’ve been on the phone for one hour already this morning, and am SOOOO getting the run-around–it’s most disheartening! WHO knows where I can go to get THE LIST–the print-out by City of Priests’ names charged in our area?

Please don’t tell me to “call the Archdiocese”—done that----FYI --this is a futile attempt–turns out nothing. Looking for something more.

IF ANYONE KNOWS THE WEBSITE DIRECT AND SUCCINT—PLEASE LET ME KNOW----O.K.?

If a priest is alleged to have committed a crime, it is a violation of his privacy to release that info until it is PROVEN that he is guilty. This is his right under due process AND the whole principle of “innocent until proven guilty”. If he is CONVICTED of sexually abusing a minor, he will be put on the National Sex Offender List and has to register with the police whenever he moves.

I don’t believe that there is a consolidated list anywhere in public with the names of accused or convicted priests, religious or laypeople.

But the Abuse Tracker, initiated by the Poynter organization, is now found here:

ncrnews.org/abuse/

It purports to have “all” the news articles which have appeared in regards to the subject.
 
OK thx you guys for your attempts–but still --I am looking for a list of abusers --per City. IF you can come up with this please let me know.

I really do think it will behoove all of us to KNOW these things.

Are you having a collection of priests who have been charged with abuse? What is your purpose of doing this? How about the other fellows who are not priests? There are a lot more out there.

There is a website where you can view the addresses & often times pictures of all the sex offenders in a particular town. At least we have that info available to us in the Chicagoland area. I did a google of “convicted sex offenders” and I found the website. Wouldn’t Priests be listed there? Or are they not always turned over to the authorities? I don’t know about that but I will say that I live in a very small town - very very distant suburb of Chicago where no body locks their doors - white picket fences - you get the picture and there are about 20 convicted sex offenders that live within 5 miles of my house. Forget about the priests… you should check out your neighbors. 😦

As with any other crime, the names become public record when they are actually convicted (or in some cases indicted). If someone is compiling and sharing lists of priests who have accusations that may or may not be founded and may or may not have resulted in convictions, they would be asking for trouble legally.
I really do think it will behoove all of us to KNOW these things.

I cannot think of any good reason I would need to know who had been accused until wrongdoing is proven.
