I might be wrong. But part of me says its the maturity levels. The need to experience life. That sort of thing. The age limit tries to stop those who later feel confined to “nun life” and feel that they must leave. I am not saying that this is right. Just want I have read and heard of the reasons.
If a person is REALLY young. Then the best way is to get in contact with the closest priest and Mother Superior of that order and talk it out with them. Sometimes there are exceptions to the rule. Together, you can all pray and decide what to do.
