Does anyone who has been baptized catholic have to be re baptized?

Does anyone whom has been baptized catholic have to be re baptized after entering RCIA?
 
No. In fact most Protestant baptisims are accepted. As long as the words I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son and the Holy Spirit are used and water is poured a baptism is valid (although illicit).
 
We believe in one baptism. We don’t re-baptize people either who have been baptized as Catholics or as non-Catholic Christians. If no proof of baptism can be found there is the possibility of a conditional baptism, but that is rare.
 
I know that its one baptism for the forgiveness of sins the reason why I asked is because I am baptized catholic.
 
Ok thank you so all I have to do is call the church and set up an appointment to talk with the priest to see when rcia starts?
 
I’m guessing this means you haven’t received your other sacraments of initiation, confirmation and the Eucharist. Yes, call your parish and check into the possibilities they offer.
 
Mormons would be the exception since they are not actually Christian since they have an invalid view of the Trinity. I have tons of Mormon friends who consider themselves Christian, but this is not so.
 
LDS baptisms are not accepted, and I am pretty sure there are others.

I don’t know. The rule of thumb, has always been the Common book of prayer. In the name of the father Son and Holy ghost.
 
I don’t know much about the UC. we had Mormons in RCIA that had to be baptized.

I would believe, that since the Unitarians thing is the lack of a Trinity, that their baptism would be non trinitarian.
 
My late wife was baptized in the Catholic Church but
when she married me a Baptist at that time, she
submitted to full immersion baptism. Later I joined
the Catholic Church and my baptism in the Baptist
Church was accepted.
 
yes, that belief would definitely exclude UC baptism from being valid in the CC.
 
There’s nothing that would be de facto illicit about what you’ve described.
 
Yes it would be illicit if a person was baptized as a Catholic outside danger of death but a valid Protestant baptizm would not be illicit.
