Bickering and arguing about the Mass accomplishes nothing. If we all put as much effort into fighting the evil of abortion, think of what we could accomplish.

We are all brothers. We are all part of the Body of Christ. We should not argue with one another.

I said traditionalist because it is an easy way to label those Catholics who attend the traditional Mass.

Please do not take this the wrong way: it is not meant as a criticism.

Perhaps it’s best not to use the expression “traditionalist” at all in discussions of liturgical matters. For a variety of reasons (which I will not go into here lest I slammed from both sides and I don’t have the patience to play that game), I personally avoid that word same as I avoid Purdue chicken (haven’t touched the stuff in 20+ years). Maybe it would be best to find another descriptor: “those who love the TLM” or “those who prefer the EF” or something like that. IMHO, it would really save a lot of aggravation. Just my :twocents: worth.

I don’t think they are. But the real issue is that it’s not the question asked in the title of this thread. Read it again. “Does Being A Traditionalist Sometimes Make You Feel Isolated?” Are you able to see the difference?

As far as modernism, please review the modernism heresy in the Church and then we can tackle that.

Malleus: I am not going to respond to this for the reasons previously stated - i agree completely with what Bennett Marie said. For clarification puposes only - The Changes of Vatican II were undertaken for modernization according to those who called the council.(John the XXIII) I never said a thing about the Heresy of Modernism (Pius the X ) - those words are your words not mine. And no I am not going to debate it here for the reasons already stated by Bennett Marie and Dempsey.

The issue of the EF is a very contentious issue, but it should not be. Some people seem to get angry every time it is mentioned. I think everybody needs to realise that we are talking about the Mass - the actual sacrifice of Christ on the Cross. We should never, ever argue about this.

Those who attend the EF want the Bishops to implement SP and make the EF Mass widely available to everyone. The EF should be in every parish, and if this is not possible, it should be in every diocese. Both Masses of the Roman rite should be respected and promoted equally.

There are two users in particular who are in the habit of posting in these discussions for the sole purpose of creating controversy. Its pretty obvious who they are and that they are not in the Traditional Catholic forum to contribute to any meaningful discussion.

The best thing to do is to just ignore the attempts at baiting and return to the topic at hand.

To return to the original question, no I actually don’t feel isolated, because the TLM is well established at the churches I attend. I’m very fortunate in that regard.
