Does Communion forgive venial sins?

I learned over the weekend that simply going to communion forgives all venial sins. Can you please advise on the forum or in scripture where this comes from? Seem hard to understand the idea of monthly, much less weekly confession, if all my venial sins are forgiven every time I go to communion.
