I understand that a priest can NEVER reveal what he hears in confession, under penalty of excommunication.
However, can a priest act differently because of something he knows through confession?
For example, if a member of his congregation comes and confesses to looking at child pornography or abusing young children, and then later volunteers to help lead a Church kids camp, would the priest be allowed to refuse his help, as long as he doesn’t tell anybody why he’s refusing?
