Hello. I love architecture and would love to become an archiect and design amazing buildings. But, my theology book talks about living simply so we will be in solidarity with the poor. So I am extremely worried that fancy buildings go against living simply and stuff because architecture is my passion. I mean, sure I would donate to charities and stuff. IPlease help, I am very worried! Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Do you think that the architect of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York should not have designed it because he wasn’t designing a home for the poor? The world needs great buildings and it also need devout architects that are mindful of the poor. The two are not contradictory.
