Does dying in mortal sin send one to hell?

If you die without having confessed a mortal sin, do you go to hell or purgatory?
 
Hi,

The Church teaches that mortal or deadly sin is just that. One who dies in this deadly sin is dead to God and has completely turned his or her back to Him. To not have God for eternity is hell.
