Does God bring true happiness?

If so, is it wrong to seek God because we want happiness, peace, and something comforting to hold onto that we know will never leave us? Or are we supposed to seek God for God himself?
 
Hi,

That’s like asking if it is wrong for children to love their parents because they give them food and shelter and toys or to love them because they are supposed to love their parents. Something is missing here isn’t it? What about loving their parents because their parents are loveable people who first loved them?

Not only has God given us life, He suffered and died that we might know something of how much He loves us. This is the reason to love Him—don’t you think? HE is our true happiness.
