@Alex337

Are you two talking about Ancient Greek or Koine Greek? Because if I’m not mistaken, the NT was written in the latter, not the former. And it’s about as dead as Ecclesiastical Latin is (which is to say it is being used).

Only the greatest saints have experienced these and I believe those that did said we shouldn’t look for these experiences. Just like the Charismatic Gifts of the Holy Spirit, God dispenses them quite sparingly. He may even withdraw them!

That’s true. It is good to look for the fruit that these things cause. I rather suffer and be virtuous than have all the consolations of heaven.

Well presumably you don’t care about your feelings, your experiences, or anything else connected to you.

No, I’m not overly reliant on them. I look for the truth and research Church teaching. I use these facts to make appropriate moral decisions. Amazing spiritual experiences cannot be taken at face value. No, they must be discerned by their fruits and put to the test.

If the language is “alive” there are problems as living languages change. If it’s dead it comes down to translations. Language is tricky but awesome.

So you don’t believe your own opinions. Wacky.

What I’m telling you is theologically rooted in Church teaching. I’m not making this stuff up or going off of opinions.

Cool. I researched theology before choosing my church too. It was all the more impressive as is never heard of Quakers until after my experience, I walked into one of their meetings by chance a few months after.

Still find it kinda quirky that you don’t believe your own opinions.

Yup; I changed my opinion after God helped me. I continue to believe the opinions I hold. You understand the idea of time, right?

They’re not opinions nor are they feelings. They’re facts. I could just paste Church Documents for you. However, you wouldn’t see those as facts.

Honestly, I’m a bit disappointed in you… I was hoping that a High School teacher could debate better…

Heh, I shall weep into my debating trophies from your wicked burn. 😋

So, do you have opinions?

Not if the opinion was based on human understanding (flesh and blood). An opinion can always change, whenever we are fully convinced of something different.

My opinion, is that this experience you had was a spirit manifesting to you. Since you came away from this experience with the conclusion that Scripture is unreliable, and you will prosper by leaving Holy Communion, it would take Jesus Himself appearing from heaven to cause me to even question that opinion.

Dead languages are languages that people use nationally or in a community, but people can still speak them.

So, you think all translations are reliable? Because
again, and I don’t know how you don’t get this, that’s what I said.

All of your opinions are based on human understanding; unless you don’t think you’re human…?
