In that case, the priest should have said “I don’t know” at best, instead of telling you it is a Christian denom.

We spoke for a long while. We some in depth about my faith, how I practice, what I believe that Catholicism doesn’t (this was the main part as he hoped I may reconcile). He asked questions and he’s also known and worked with the local Quakers for years as we have a few multidenominational events.

Sorry, dude, but you’re just wrong on this. I’ve been Baptised and even a priest agrees that my beliefs are Christian. Not Catholic. But Christian.

I actually showed him posts from this thread as I value his thoughts and wanted to be sure I had the right of it. And yes, still Christian.

Maybe this priest should consult his Bishop.
Hop off your high horse, dude, it doesn’t suit.
Actually, it’s humility which seeks communion with the Bishop.

It doesn’t matter what I will do. What will you and this priest do, if the Bishop says it is not a recognized Christian denim?

It’s foolish debasement to assume everything a priest says (let alone by the claim of an internet poster) accurately represents Church Teaching.

Very sure of yourself  I see you’re also ignoring that Quakers do have baptism, that it’s just different to a Catholic one.

I can try to catch the Bishop if he’s in town, he travels the diocese.

I’m not ignoring. It is not a Sacrament Baptism.
… You do know many, many, many protestant churches don’t call things sacraments, right? That’s like calling a group “not Christian” because they attend a “service” rather than a mass. I also take it you didn’t read the link:
“In the early Church, the laying on of hands on the newly baptized to impart the gift of the Holy Spirit was the origin of the sacrament of confirmation.”

That’s where this kind of baptism originated. Quakers take a lot from the early days because of their roots.

What good is being a Christian by Baptism, if even this priest recognizes that you need to reconcile with the Lord who has received you through Baptism?

I’ve told you, you are Christian by your Baptism, and anti-Christian by rejecting important Teachings of Jesus.

Only God can know your culpability for this. I can only encourage you to reconcile.

But you are staunchly opposing your Christian brothers, who are warning you.

At no point have I rejected the teachings of Jesus. I have disagreed with your interpretation of them in the same way, and of the same passage, as a great many protestant churches have; but you accept that they are Christian.

I know we’re on a bad foot but if you actually want to unstated the subject try this: http://www.westhillsfriends.org/PRP12.html

What foes that have to do with the meaning and Church definition of Baptism?

Confirmation is a separate Sacrament.

The Church recognizes valid Christian denominations by including HER definition of Baptism.

They aren’t MY interpretation of Jesus’ Teachings, but the Catholic Church.
