I have been struggling over the past several years to find my vocation, being 26 years old I feel now is the best time to start looking for my real role in life, to be fair I would be happy in any state, Marriage, Priesthood or living life without marrying and just enjoying ones career and making people happy. I don’t really feel that God cares though about what I choose to do in my life, I pray every day and I never get an answer that satisfies, God I feel is a very distant father, my father actually tells me what he is thinking about me when I ask him, God on the other hand does not tell people what he thinks of their life choices at that moment. I am sorry to sound a bit frustrated but I just get angry at this whole idea that one can choose Hell through making the wrong choices, if I woke up tomorrow and found myself in Hell it would not feel like a choice I had made! Why is there so little feedback from God on how we live our life?

That is very true but not especially assuring when one feels like they have constantly made the wrong choices all the time, if God knows me better why wont he tell me what to do more like a human father?

God can work with whatever choices you make. It’s not like if he wanted you to become a priest but you get married instead he’s just going to abandon you

God abandons people if he wishes, St Thomas Aquinas even said that God gives no reason other than his own choice why he ensures that some are helped by him to get to Heaven while he lets others die in their sins.
