Does God change people's mind regarding human's free will?

God had given each of us free will to make our own decision, if it is people’s free will God will not intervene. So what if we pray for something regarding other’s free will?

For example, if we pray for promotion at work regarding boss’ mind and his free will, does prayer work? say if I made mistakes before so the boss does not like me or underestimate my ability no matter how hard we work, if we pray to change boss mind, can God change him if we pray on that?

Another example, if someone does not like me and is hardened heart and does not treat me good, will God change his mind and treat me better or like me?

One more example, if a selfish person owe us much money and never return us a penny, it is his free will even it is a fault or sin, will God change his mind to repent and at last will return us the debt?

I can say God is really perfectly good. For many years, whatever I pray on, God will help me and give me at the very last, but He used other ways without intervening human’s free will. (Only one extreme case is my dad’s deathbed conversion, holy spirit spoke through his sister (atheist) to change his mind. I know it was God working on that at the last moment. )

For most situations, God helped me by other ways without intervening other’s free will.

My question is - should we pray on changing other’s mind and free will? or if we pray on a situation regarding other’s free will but no result after long time, can we assume it’s not of God’s will? or God will work on it but really takes a long time?

Any comments or stories will be appreciated. :bowdown2:

If you are walking along in the dark having a flashlight that only shined red light, you would only see things that reflected red light.
You might stumble on a black object because you did not see it in the red light path.

God moves people, not by changing what they want, but by being a light, by giving more light to see what is true and to see what is good.
Without this light, or if the light is blocked, people do not see the right things or do the right things, but are in a kind of darkness to true virtue, darkness about true goodness.
With this light, we have new things we see, new things we can choose with our free will that we did not realize were in front of us before the light was there.

Pray for God to “enlighten them” to see.
And to enlighten you to see, always, so that even if no one else sees, you will still see what is real and what is good in front of you.

And you, yourself, are to be part of that light shining, materially in the world (“you are the light of the world”, “you are the salt of the earth” preserving it). Walk in the world doing everything virtuously. Be the one seeing the light of truth, even if no one else does.

Thank you for the reply. This is encouraging, I think I should work better on myself first.

But as many people will pray for another for conversion, this is also the case regarding ones free will. And God usually answered these kind of prayers because it is of Gods will. And many people converted finally.

So now I wonder if God really can move people by providing more guidance around them? by enlightening them?

If something does not ever happen, even if we have done our best, can we assume our prayer intention is not of God’s will?
