Does God get sad seeing us sad ?
How would Jesus feel seeing us suffer ?! Especially when he himself allows most of the sufferings to occur.

Yes, God is sad that we are sad, and also sad that we sin and bring a lot of sorrow on ourselves and others through our sins. It’s a lot like when Jesus was in agony in the garden - he was miserable not just because of his own pain but because he saw all the sinful and hurtful things humanity would do.

Catholics are taught that one reason for praying to Jesus and visiting Him via Mass, the Eucharist, prayer, and Adoration is to comfort Him in his sadness and try to make him happy. Some saints have focused very hard on trying to comfort Jesus.

But it’s not just our sins which bring sorrows and sufferings.
Sometimes god let’s us suffer inorder to test us or something . Like how he did with Job.

Yes, that’s true. One could argue that Job’s suffering was due to Adam and Eve committing sin, which is how all mankind were exposed to suffering - otherwise there never would have been any.
But I see your point.
Sometimes suffering is a test or God has a purpose in sending it.

I’m sure he is givin the overall state of humanity. Try best to follow his laws and consul him.

Impossible, God can not be sad otherwise he is no longer God. Besides, all the inhabitants of Heaven have a perfect joy, that is to say devoid of all sorrows.

All that happens is wanted by God (either of an absolute will, or of a will of permission). We can not be reasonably sad about something we wanted, so God can not be sad.

Jesus is God. Jesus got sad a number of times.
Therefore, God gets sad.

Although Catholics are not required to believe in private revelations, various approved private revelations have stated that Jesus/ God still gets sad when we sin.

Jesus as God did never suffer, Jesus as a man suffered. And now Jesus in his glory whether as God, or as a man is no longer sad

God is immutable, unchangeable. Unless you posit that God has been “sad” from all eternity, I don’t see how God can change from being “not sad” to “sad.” To say nothing of the folly of ascribing human emotions to the Father.

Even in the Bible we talk about the anger of God, his sadness, etc., but these are metaphors to help us understand a little, the acts of God.

The Father and the Son are both God.
The Son had human emotions.
If God has no human emotions, then we couldn’t say “God loves us” or “Jesus loves you”.
God is perfectly capable of having whatever emotions He wants to have.

Jesus is God. Certainly it was his human nature that felt passable emotions, but as Jesus feels such things, so we can say that God feels these things.

I really don’t know for certain, but the life of Jesus must hold part of the answer. The scriptures reveal to us that he cried, felt anguish and sorrow during his ministry.

God exists as a spirit. We impose our emotions onto God in a desperate attempt to feel a higher power. He (she, it) has no emotions, no desires, no regrets, no plans. Success, failure, resilience, fortitude all mean nothing to a being who exists outside of time itself.
Even in his incarnation, he knew that he would be resurrected. There was intense pain, sure, but he knew the outcome. This separates him from all humans who have ever lived. We cannot remotely approach Jesus in any way.
Sad? God the father would give anything for a moment of sadness.

Jesuis had cried, it was in the past. Today he is in eternity he does not cry anymore, he has no more passions.
So we can at most say that God was sad when he was incarnate. But now he is no longer sad at all

I wouldn’t say that He “gets sad” as we do, though He is grieved when we grieve, and He grieves when we do wrong. He cares about us, and seeing us hurt ourselves and each other hurts Him even worse.
