Looking back, in the time you drove to the store to tell them about the theft, you could have gone to speak to Father perhaps?

Email your youth minister, email Father. Call someone at the parish.

Your question title and example have no relevance to one another.

The title of your post is wrong because God never puts anything to us we cannot bear. So a no win situation is out of the question.

As for your actual question - the solution is to take it to confession. By puttng it in the hands of a Priest (another person ordained to administer sacramental graces) and doing the prescribed penance, you’ll put it back in another person’s hands, who will ultimately put it God’s hands.

You’re right this wasn’t the correct title. However, I have heard both I did the right and I have done the wrong thing.
 
I didn’t drive I was out w/ friends later and we were at the store.
