How does an individual accept the writings in the Bible as really inspired from God when many times the Bible has quotes saying “and God said, kill all the women, children, animals, etc…” God gave us the Commandment of “Thou Shalt Not Kill”. How, then can God ask someone to kill? Even Abraham could have asked God, “why are You asking me to sacrifice my only son? Didn’t You command that we not kill?” This has caused my husband great distress in his faith. Thank you for a reply.

Hi,

God is God and not one of His creatures. He certainly has the right to take any life that He created. He is not being cruel when He takes life. He is simply bringing us home. He alone knows what the best time is for such.
