Given that after the fall of man god introduced suffering, i.e. infectious bacteria, viruses. Given it knew even if at first they were not deadly, that they would evolve to be. Does he hate humans for inventing cures which save the dammed? I mean if god says your time is your time who are we mear humans to go and invent penicillin?

In short, no.

The universe was created for man and its intelligibility make for good science. It is mans faulty reasoning of his observations that are an issue.

Medical advances are good.

Christian Science (see here) is the religious denomination that follows this belief.

I agree that the advance of science is good. However if god introduced the fall then who are we to argue??

Where did you get these ideas?

God did NOT invent bacteria and other pathogens after the fall. NOTHING in the UNIVERSE worked right after the fall.

Did Jesus say to the little dead girl, the dead man of Nain, or Lazarus who had been dead for four days, “Your time is your time?” Or did He say, “Come back to life! Wake up! Join the land of living humans again!”

The English word “science” comes from the Latin word meaning “to know.” Why would God not want us to know how the universe works now?

Tell me, when you’re sick, do you just curl up and wait to die? Or do you do something about it, like taking medicine and going to the doctor?

Finally, your posts are more likely to be taken seriously if you learn to spell properly.

If you want to really discuss matters PM me. Though beware i think your a little out your league.

Then one has to ask, if we were not to make any advances since the fall, we should turn against any material advances such as cars, zippers, and buttons. toss the tv and anything not made of natural materials.

egads, where do you come up with such things?

Oh and you also insult the intellect of your moderators, for as a mod on another site…

Thank you for a serious reply. I would ask, since god brought suffering to the earth as the result of of the fall, and it is therefore it is clearly his wish… Would he not be annoyed with us for going against it and curing its wish?

zzzzZZZZZ Can anyone answer the question??? God brought suffering to earth after the fall??? YES or NO? So it he annoyed that we have tackled it?
It’s not a matter of being unable to answer the question but of ignoring insincere pretensions to be seeking the truth when you are convinced you know it already…

I don’t use the word “know” about. Sooooooooo will you answer?

Funny, in my Bible it does not say anywhere, "Now that you, Adam and Eve, have eaten of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. . .I banish you from heaven and not only that, in banishing you to a now imperfect earth, I further decree that any and all suffering that you encounter on the earth, now that it is subject to ills and imperfection, cannot be addressed by you in any way, shape, or form, for that is turning to SCIENCE and it goes against ME.

Clothes so you don’t freeze? Forget them. You’re interfering with the ‘nature’ of the planet. If you freeze, it’s God’s will.
Plant crops rather than just hunt and gather? Forget them. If you can’t forage and find edible food, it’s your time to suffer and die.

Bwwaa haa haa. I your God doom you to eternal suffering and damnation" . .

Nope, not in my Bible. Thank God!

So all the Scripture where the Jews are engaged in things like building, trading, and even herding sheep show that they’re disobedient to God, because all those things will keep them alive and all that ‘life saving’ is totally against God’s will.

FWIW, Catholic teaching has not identified any person as being known to be damned. I do wonder at posters who are so quick to determine other peoples’ damnation, I really do. What gives them the right to assume that they can judge any person?

If it is God’s wish for a man not to be cured, then all the science in the world will not cure him. It is man’s error to think he is better than God because he can cure another man’s suffering, rather than God’s hand directing the cure.

Did God bring suffering to the world, or do we? The latter, of course. He tells us all the time not to do such and such, and then we blame Him for the natural consequences that occur when we go against His will? Suffering is a result of man’s misuse of his free will. Period. If he used it properly, there would be no problems. A proper use of our God-given free will would be to alleviate the suffering of others. Ergo, science that is aimed at the alleviation of others’ pain is good–and therefore God-approved. Does that answer your question?

And I do believe that it would behoove you to offer an apology to his Grace, Bishop Basil, given that you were perhaps a bit out of line in stating that he would be “outmatched” in an argument with you.

Then why would god bring this suffering specifically those who lived before the 20th century?? This is where it really loses me??
