Being pure Spirit, God the Father does not have a face in the sense that material beings do.This question was asked in my “Why Catholic” group yesterday and the ensuing discussion was very interesting. How would you answer this question?
When we read in the Scriptures that someone or something is “before God’s face,” it is an anthromorphism used to describe a spiritual reality using limited, but familiar, human language. It simply means to be in God’s presence.

Yes, provided we keep in mind that Jesus’ face is an aspect of his human nature, not his divine nature.Since the Incarnation, the Second Person of the blessed Trinity has had a face, the face of Jesus Christ.

In Genesis, when God said, “Let Us create man in Our image and likeness…” Adam had a “face” and it must have been a replication, albeit, a course one, of the Face of God. Adam’s face was the first one to reflect God’s image and likeness.
However, after all that, another thought entered: Jesus said (Apocalypse) “I am the Alpha and the Omega…” meaning He is the First and the Final… that must be considered of what God’s Face looks like. Jesus mirrors the Father AND the Holy Spirit.

God the being has a face, in the person of Christ.
He existed from the beginning of creation, not just from the Incarnation. In fact, man is made in the image of Christ - both literally, and figuratively.
