Does God have a sense of Humor?

Did God intend for somethings to be funny? Or is this some kind of anomaly?
 
I am quite sure God has a sense of humor! I’ve learned a lesson sometimes that He has taught me through Scripture, prayer or other people. Years later I forgot the lesson and went back to my old ways. I’m SURE I heard a quiet voice inside saying “once more around that mountain, Judy!” (referring to the Israelites having to wander 40 years to learn their lesson from the Mountain when they received the Tablets, then didn’t believe God would help them when scouts returned & said there was no way to take the Promised Land because there were “giants” there!)

And so, I had to learn that lesson again! I felt inside His laughter at the foolishness of my forgetting what He had already taught me!
 
Let us for simplicity" sake define humour as a comprehension of the incongruity of nature and humanity. We are told that we are created in His likeness, so whereas such a comprehension may be the result of our flawed understanding of creation, a flaw not possessed of God, we can be assured of his understanding of this glass darkly aberration in our sight.
There is no report of a LOL sense of humour in the Biblical accounts of Jesus; however what we do see is a forensic wit, that presumes a comprehension of the incongruity.
All I can say is that He better have a sense of humour when he reads my report card.
 
I have always thought that the platypus proved God has a sense of humor.

I think God would not give us a trait that he himself does not possess. I think there is an example in Genesis. God tells Abraham and Sarah that they will become parents to a son. Both of them laughed in their hearts at such an absurdity, as they were both in their 90’s. God heard them laughing, and even told Sarah that she was laughing, and Sarah, being frightened, denied laughing. To which God replied, “No, you were laughing!” So what does He do? He tells Abraham and Sarah to name their son Isaac (Itzhak) which means “to laugh”. Sounds like he understands humor to me! 😃
 
Jesus called two of his apostles “sons of thunder” when they wanted to rain down fire on a specific town. I think He displayed his humor when he said that.

And all his life Issac had to explain why he had such a silly name. And Issac answered, " Just look at Mom and Dad, don’t you think that’s funny? "

I have heard a story of padre pio once boxing a demon and winning as he watched his guardian angel sit back and watch him and once padre pio was done he ask his angel why he didn’t help and his angel said you were doing pretty good I thought you didn’t need help. I thought that funny another one is saint Teresa of Avila aid walking and talking to God and she sccidentally falls in the mud and asks God why he let her fall he said that’s how he treats all his friends and she with a smile jokingly says I’m glad I’m not your friend. I think not only God has a sense of humor and a very good one at that and I also think the saints have a sense of humor.
 
He most definitely does have a sense of humor! I attend Saturday morning Mass, and there is a parish and a chapel within a close vicinity. Thus, when the pastor of the parish is not there, a rather brusque priest from the chapel will say Mass on Saturday mornings. This chapel priest does everything as quickly as possible, which can become somewhat hilarious when the pianist decides to play for the Saturday morning Mass. The priest will start saying the Gloria only to have the pianist interrupt him with song and then awkward silence ensues for a good 15ish seconds before they figure out what to do next. As this sort of thing has happened more than once, I am positive God finds it humorous. I jokingly refer to this stand-off as the Battle of the Bulge Part II. 😃

Let’s give credit where credit is due…

no, No, and NO - I have not seen a platypus… not close up anyways. I think zedonks are pretty funny, as are dumbo rats, and penguins. My children are hilarious! He created people who call phones “smart”, pomegranates. Thunder… some people find it so scary, but it can’t hurt you… celery - it gives you just enough energy to chew it.

God definitely has a sense of humor!
