Does God have gender? Why was Jesus male?

In my previous establishments I have heard Chaplains say Mother God as well as Father God in prayer.

Jesus became male so that He could be our High Priest (and only men can be priests).

Prior to the Incarnation, God referred to Himself in masculine terms, and so that is why we refer Him as such.

In Hebrew, the “he” is not a masculine pronoun. It is neuter. But when it was composed, the ancient Hebrew had not neuter.
Could you elaborate, please? I was taught that there are only two genders in Hebrew, masculine and feminine. Just as there are only two genders in some other languages, such as Spanish and French, unlike Latin and German, among others, which have three genders, masculine, feminine, and neuter.

Even if a neuter word is used, this is somewhat irrelevant. One can frequently make a determination using the context of the passage.
