Does God have gender?

My priest said that it was theologically sound to refer to our lord as mother, is that correct?:confused:
 
Dear friend,

God the Father is pure spirit and so does not have gender. But Jesus called Him Father and told His Apostles to do so when they asked Him to teach them to pray. So we call him Father and NOT Mother.

We understand human fatherhood to the degree that we know God the Father–and not the other way around.
