Does God limit one's ability to understand Faith issues?

In that Faith is a Goft of God’s grace; does it follow that God limits some people RIGHT understanding of His Teachings?

No. If God did do this it would take away our free will. God gives everyone Grace to get to Heaven, whether that person uses it or not is completely up to him/her. It could be pride that holds people back from truly understanding his teaching.

I think He gives it to us in little doses, like crumbs on the pathway of our journey. If He gave it to us all at once our heads would explode. One crumb leads to another slightly more intricate crumb that makes us want to continue.

Will God deny us that which will get us to Heaven? Certainly not!
 
Looking at theology I get the impression it is an evolving entity over time. That and having the occasional Saint like Padre Pio seems to offer a lot of insight into how things work.

Certainly seems to me that poor Pharaoh’s faith in God was hindered by God himself.

With this position everyone would have the same “I.Q” too as well as the same degree of understanding. 🙂

True, but is it relevant to this conversation?

How many of them did God perform miracles for to aid their understanding?

This was a period when man was “under he Law” Judgment; LONG before they were under GRACE as are we:)

It seems to skirt my precise question:) Does GOD choose to limit one’s ABILITY to understand FOR ANY REASON [thats a hint]👍

The quote only indicates that God allowed Pharaoh to harden his heart,not that he forced Pharaoh to be like this. This is in line with the old idea that everything that happens is God’s will, which is often misinterpreted.
Since it is God’s will that the Hebrews leave Egypt, why didn’t God soften Pharaoh’s heart?
( God could have opened the Red Sea even without Pharaoh’s chariots chasing the Hebrews and so provide a spectacular miracle to show the people his power. 😃 And so on. As Ramses indicated in The Ten Commandments movie, the ten plagues might have all been natural phenomena. So this ambiguity reflects God’s NOT determining Pharaoh’s decisions. )

So God himself says Pharaoh’s attitude is Pharaoh’s own fault.

To few it is given to understand, that EVERYTHING remains to be understood.

So if the person rejects the presence of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit leaves and the person is on his own.

👍 It is a mistake to accept every interpretation of events in the Old Testament as Gospel truth!
