Does God the Father answer prayer in this Age?

Are there any NT scriptures that support praying directly to the Father ? And, if it is allowed … would it make a difference if one were an unbeliever vs a believer ?

In Pre Christian days … the Jews were able to address the Father directly. But, now that the Messiah has appeared … will the Father still accept / answer Jewish prayers ?
 
He was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.”

He said to them, "When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread

and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test."

Matthew 6:6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, **pray to thy Father **which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
 
Ok, the two examples above would apply to a believer.

Would it still be acceptible if the prayer originated from a non-christian ?

Acceptable for who? you or God?

If you were a non-Christian, I would think that God would like to hear from you regardless if you called Him Father or God. And I don’t see a prohibition to calling Him Father by a non-Christian. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to call Him your Father if you don’t accept Him though.
